Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

Dumb questions, but do the buses run during the party and after?

Yes, I'm assuming an hour after...

LOL they better or I won't be able to get to my hotel

I doubt they will have the monorail running, maybe Halloween night or around then, but when I'm going Oct 11, I just doubt it would be worth it for Disney to keep the monorails running.

Not a dumb question. I think once you find out there might be monorail service, it makes you question everything!

There should be buses available until the last patron is gone.

There will be PLENTY of HEAVILY attended parties prior to Halloween. And the question has to do with more than party attendees. Many othes will be eating dinner at a monorail resort.

:thumbsup2 Ya, but they can get around via buses too, with the new monorail policy, do you think Disney will keep them open, because ppl also have buses and boats and walking...and driving themselves if they want to?

I still really wonder still if Disney will keep it open, there are a lot of people who eat all the time and travel and stuff non-party days and it seems Disney is cutting them off if there time extends after normal operating hours. I think this budget cut was thought out monotarily and not thought in terms of being practical...necessarily.

Those who drive still need to get back to the TTC.

I don't know what they do. The first reports were that it would close 1 hour after regular park hours, even on party nights. Now they seem to be backing off but saying it's still under review. I think it would be ill-advised to not have the monorail available at the end of the parties, especially since at most parties people stay til the bitter end, unlike EMH, where they filter out over the entire night. For 3 months of the year, this is a very big issue since parties are tyically 4 night out of every 7.

Aren't there buses to the TTC? :thumbsup2 It is a big issue and I think they should keep them open out of consideration to their guests, however, I wouldn't be surprised if they cut them off because it isn't worth the money in their eyes to keep it open. I hope it is worth it, with MNSSHP, MVMCP and Food and Wine Festival going on...

So staying at the Poly, we would be better off just walking back after the party?

From the MK the only resort you can walk to is the Contemporary.

The boats should still be running. If not then Disney will provide bus transportation.

You will not be stranded at the park. We had our own bus back to Pop one evening as we stayed well past closing.

We have always used the monorail when we have stayed at a resort on the line. We've never used any of the other transportation when going to MK from a monorail resort. I think I would prefer the boats over the buses as they don't seem as crowded

Need opinions!! We will be in Disney World the last week of September. We are debating heading to MNSSHP, but don't know if our toddler will really enjoy it. He will be 21 months and LOVES Toy Story. Our plans for that day look like this:

8am--Chef Mickey's
12pm--The Plaza Restaurant
5pm--dinner at Cape May Cafe (we are staying at Beach Club and figured we would leave MK at 1pm, have son take his three hour nap, get some dinner and head back to MK)

What is your experience with taking a toddler?? Did they enjoy it?? We would be going on Tuesday, September 27th. Thanks!!

Three sitdown meals with a toddler seem like alot, but that is just my opinion - you know your little one best. As far as the night of the party, I would not do a TS that might cut into party time, especially since you have to travel to MK after dinner. The part tickets are expensive, so I won't spend a minute of it traveling or dining. We usually get to MK around 4, get a quick CS and then get in line for photos at 6:30. After that we are ready to go.

The party goes until 12am, so unless you planning on staying up that late with your child, I wouldn't see it as worth it. The tickets are expensive and I think a lot of the experience would be lost on them. I've never taken a child that young, but I've gone with my family and my two year old neice at the time, she had fun with the stuff she could do, but they can't do quite a lot (in my opinion) and a lot of the experince is lost on them. It's really for the adults at that point. Kids that age get scared of the charcters too, some don't some do. My neice is four now, still young, but she's tall enough 44" (she's tall) for most of the rides. We go to wdw every year too, so it's fun to see her grown into Disney:goodvibes

Don't forget the ferry. Will be a lot more crowded obviously and a longer wait to get on. Oh well, been a while since we've done the ferry anyway. I'm still astounded at their failure to take the parties into account. It's not like they only have parties one week out of the year. Just unbelievable.

Me too. I just don't see any way they can close monorail access prior to the end of the party + 1 hour each night.

And I'm pretty sure the Disney bean counters haven't forgotten about the parties.....

You all just continue along now...... buy your expensive party tickets........ I'm sure they'll get back with all of us REAL SOON on the party transportation........

From the responses on the other thread, I sure hope they are getting enough feedback about this to maybe re-think their strategy on this issue.

Well, you know, when I first read about the uproar over Meg Crofton's promotion to President of US and European operations, I didn't quite get it. With this monorail debacle as an indicator of how she runs a ship...now I get it.
