Official 2011 Disneyland Half Thread!

I love the pin.....thanks so much for posting. I will definitely be ordering one for myself and one for my sister.
Happy Running!

Hi all.

This thing is getting even more real. I booked return Airfair today. Southwest Dropped their price to $134 for the trip. It's not the flight I wanted but isn't bad. It has a 2 1/2 hour layover in Denver. The flight I wanted had a stop but no plane change, it was still $155. I ended up paying $303 round trip with tax and everything.

Hi, I am jumping in here at the end and not reading the whole thread - my question is - has anyone set up any WISH meets at DL? I know we usually do a get together in front of Jamba Juice one of the evenings - but as I have not been following the thread, I do not know if that is the case again this year.

Because of our knees, Scott and I will not be doing the half, we have signed up for the 5K, and plan to sign up for some volunteering, so hope to see folks there anyway!

Are you looking to fly out of DTW to SNA or is it coincidence?

I just double checked my flights to see if I would be on the same SWA flight as some of you to Denver. I forgot that my credit on SWA did not include the Denver layover. Instead I have 1.5 hours in Las Vegas. Sweet!

Weird coincidence then, as Southwest dropped their fares here to the same thing. :confused3

It looks like DTW to LAX may have dropped again to $121 for certain flights. I'm still going to check prices to see if I can get the better flight times.

Hey folks,
For today only Groupon is featuring a $25 for $100 of airfare from Chicago to LAX on Virgin America: http://gr.pn/irPpE7

Thought some of you who've been looking for an airfare deal might want it.

Hey guys! They posted the 5k map today. If you did it last year, same route. If not, it starts at the tram area near the Mickey and Friends Parking Lot, through DL, across to DCA and finishing over around the lagoon on the Little Mermaid side.

Here's the link:

It's going to be a great weekend, now we just have to wait until the end of Summer....

I found for me SNA (John Wayne) was cheaper than flying into LAX (coming from MCO/Orlando) which is bizarre but I'll take it any day.. I bit the bullet at 330 RT which is higher than I'd like but not horrible...

I really need to find the motivation to train-

I have yet to buy my plane tickets. I'm moving to Florida in less than a month and just got permission from the PI's to come back for the race, but I'm still hesitant to buy plane tickets until I get my schedule, which will hopefully be soon. I'm anxious to get the tickets though... it's the last thing I need.

Hi Runners,
I hadn't thought about training for this yet. It still feels like winter here in Utah with all the rain and snow we have been getting lately. But I guess it is time to start. I am going to look at some training schedules and see what I like.

I am excited for the run. Looked at the map for the first time and I am a little disappointed that we don't get to run through the park again at the end. I needed some extra pep at the end of the half last year and running through the parking lot just didnt do it. Oh well. Maybe they will have more characters out there this year.

Will swap weather for a bit if I could. Another 90* day and no rain. Can't understand why people need to have green lawns when we're in a drought. First time in DL so DW and I should be having a blast the whole time.

So I've finally been able to get a decent amount of mileage into my workout (a grand total of 5 miles at once so far). I'm not as sore as I have been the last few weeks and I plan on redoing a route that kicked my *** last week. This week, I'll be kicking its ***!

Anyway, on top of getting more serious about my training, I've also started a blog. It's going to be on running and the various mind wanderings that happen on my runs (I tend to check out and think of anything and everything). Should be interesting I hope :confused3. If you want to check it out the address is: http://runningmuses.blogspot.com/

Running in the cold isn't too bad. I did it most of the winter getting ready for my spring half marathon.

Our weather has been a roller coaster ride. Highs in the 90's the last 4 days, to day we're supposed to hit 73.

I asked this in the Disneyland Boards thread but I'll ask it here also. Does anyone know if you can upgrade the tickets from Get Travel. With HM and SM closing for Halloween overlay, I may end up wanted to do more days in the park.

According to wdwinfo, Sept. 3rd is the last day for Haunted Mansion. I wasn't planning on going that day but If going from 4 to 5 days is cheap, why not. I'm also flying out on the 13th, so If any of the rides are done before then, I'll want to add ride the halloween version before I leave, adding another day. So, if I buy tickets and find I need more days, can I add them without breaking the budget?

runDisney posted a pic of the medal on their facebook page.

Love the medal! I just saw it on the Disney Blog website too! Can't wait to add it to my little collection of rundisney medals!

I agree the medal does look neat. I'm Just a bad judge on size. But it looks like it could be a little small.
