OFFICIAL 2010 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) Tips and Tricks

We are really torn about going to a party during our trip. Its our first time going during the holidays and we only have one evening/night at MK in our plans right now, and I feel like we're going to be missing a lot by not having more time to see the lights at MK. Plus I'd love to see the snow on Main Street!

Looking forward to reading the reviews and hoping it'll sway me one way or the other!!!

I just looked at the party map and I only see 2 areas for character meet and greet...I thought there were more...

So at the Christmas Party none of the characters sign autographs? Is that correct?

It's my understanding that they sign autographs everywhere you meet & greet them, except when they are at the dance parties. They are there to dance and interact, and not to pose and sign.

I noticed that, too. I thought it seemed a bit odd.

I guess we'll know more after tonight! :santa:

I'll be there on the 30th, too!!

So, since the parade starts in Frontierland, where is the best veiwing location? I usually sit in Liberty Square for Spectro, but that comes from the other direction. If I want to view the parade from Main Street do I need to sit there for hours before the parade?

I know I brought this up somewhere, but don't remember from all the Christmas/MVMCP WDW threads I have been reading lately, but I have a few questions about the parade and fireworks timing.

I've seen it said many times that the 2nd parade is not as crowded as the first and even says this on the map/brochure for the party. So for those that have been in the past, what is your strategy for seeing both? I would just think people who are there for the first (8:15) parade would just hold their spots till after the fireworks (9:30) and then I could see there being more availablity for the 2nd parade, but would you have to sacrifice your fireworks viewing :confused3

Trying to get a possible schedule put together or what we are going to see when. I know we will have to give up at least 1 show because I do want to get pics with a lot of the characters, especially those usually not seen on a regular park day.

TIA

I was thinking the same thing. I wanted to see the 2nd parade so we could get more character greetings right away. A lot of people move around because the best spot for the parade isn't the best for Wishes. I personally like to stay in one stop. We'll probably end up seeing the first parade and then Wishes and camping out in our spot at like 7:30ish.

Comparing this map to 2009 it does appear that 2010 has fewer attractions open. Some of the attractions that were open for 2009 included Adventures of Pooh and the Mad Tea Party, both of which are under refurb now but scheduled to come back soon. I wonder if later parties this year will have those rides open too. Is this map just for the early parties?

WooHoo us too!! We were going to go on the 7th but since that is assumed to be a busy night with no advance disount price we are going to go the 5th instead!!

We are going the night of the 7th - where did you find info stating it would be a busier night???? I figured since it was a Tuesday it would be safer than a weekend!

Hi all - my next trip is 12/6 and we have tickets for the 11th.

Did Allears have a discounted price? When we bought ours (mid October) the price seemed higher than the $57 listed on the first page. I will definitely confirm when I get home tonight.

Sorry if this was posted in one of the other pages on the thread - I just didn't have a chance to look yet today.

Cheers!

Cool. Thanks. We have our tix for 11/16. Supposedly a slower night for crowds.

Anyone have any opinions on where the best place to view the parade and Holiday Wishes are?

Does anyone know what "Tomarrowland Terrace Fireworks Party" is and what it costs ????

yay for this thread! I am on pins and needles so excited about the party next week!
