Goto www.disney.com and register for their site then order a free vaca dvd! odds are youll probably get a code! Codes can be used to apply a percentage off to you package or sometimes they offer room only discounts etc...Hope this helps if not ask more......

Not necessarily! I order that planning DVD about every 6 months, plus have ordered the DVC and the cruise ones. I answer every survey they send me and also answer the surveys when I'm stopped in the parks. I have them verify my email every time I call to make sure it's up to date and marked that they can send me mail. I have NEVER gotten a postcard or an email PIN code.

I have an AP and visit 3-4 times a year. I guess they figure they have me hooked, so why bother with sending me a PIN code.

OH how I do hope this will be the case. My family & I leave for Washington DC on the 8th. Being able to get this all squared away beforehand (hopefully) will help so much!

FYI: My homeschooling newslists are generally very reliable in their info, but I understand even they could be wrong about a Disney rumor.

Im sorry that it didnt work for you! It worked for me! Maybe you should try doing your spouses name and only putting one time visited some people on other threads have said that worked! Just a thought!

Excellent advise! The Free Dining Plan is what it is and there is no way we will know what it is until it happens. Once it does people will have to be flexible or they will be end up disappointed.

Ah, I remember the first year when none of us knew. Such bliss!!!! It was so exciting to see it pop up. "Look dear. They are giving us our meals!" I think a lot of the fun now(if you let it be fun) is the anticipation. Kids at Christmas. Enjoy, anticipate, plan.

We ordered something a few years ago from Disney in our grandsons name (different name than ours, same adress) and he received a pin postcard yesterday asking his family to come for their first visit. 30% off room rate. Wonder if I call and try to book in a 10 yr olds name what will they do? It would be our 4th year in a row. Gotta love that Disney marketing!

I'm hoping that free dining starts the day we LEAVE (For those interested, it's mid-August.)

We lucked into a great PIN and won't save much with free dining. But if it starts after we go home, all those people waiting for free dining will arrive then, and we'll have the parks to ourselves.

I've done it in my name and his name.
I've signed both or our emails up for newsletters and such.
I downloaded the new DisneyLink thing for my desktop.
We have only been ONCE, hoping to go again in Sept.

But I've never received a postcard, email or anything with a % off offer or pin offer. Sadly, if I had we'd already be booked again!

No flames here! We'll be there Aug 10-20 and a little birdie told me that my dates will not be part of the free ddp (of course, it would be nice if birdie was wrong), but I've gotten over it and have moved on. I added different ADRs to my schedule now. I originally scheduled meals based on using the ddp. I will cancel them once it's official. I figured we too have the 40% code at Pop and since there will be no free ddp folks at the values for my dates, it should not be as crazy. (UK folks could not book pop and bounceback folks could not book August). I just sit back now and wait for the official word that I lucked out again. (Last year I booked Aug 15th for a week and the free ddp started Aug. 24th or 26th - can't remember now.)

I made my reservations last night and saved $1000 with the 40% code mailer I got. The dining plan is costing me $742 for 2 adults, 3 kids. I asked the CM if I could add the free dining code when it comes out (I'm traveling Aug. 14-21) and she said I would have to pick which discount I'm going with - clearly the 40% is worth more to me so I'm going to stay with that. I was originally waiting to book our ressies when free dining was announced but after reading this thread about possibly not even including August, I decided to try the 40% mailer I got and boy, am I glad.

Here is my question for you all, just a what would you do type of thing...we are staying at a value resort, I ordered the DVD and maps and go to the disney site all the time trying to see if I get a code in the mail, here is what I'm debating on,

IF I get a code for the 20%-40% off the room only, I would use it to A) make our trip way less than it is now OR B) Move up to a Mod resort and pay the same amount as we are now.

I'm happy with what we are paying now and it is in our budget perfectly, if I got it for less that would be really cool, if I could get a better resort, closer to parks for around the same that would also Rock. WWYD?

I'll still be waiting until it's official. I've got ADRs for lunch if no DDP and ADRs for dinner if we do the DDP. I'll be cancelling some as soon as the dates are released. Since I have a party of 7, 9, and 11 (different parties for different days) I couldn't take a chance of not having places to eat with my larger groups. (Actually I made an ADR for LeCellier yesterday -- 4 months -- for a party of 7 for lunch and had several times to choose from.)
