Offical FlashFoward Thread-Spoilers Possible

Warning - Spoliers from the 10/22 episode.

I was surprised by her attack. I get what happened with the guys in DC. I think her story is the most intreguing to me. I'm also interested in the babysitter's story with the drowning but that seems to be moving no where fast. Seems I like the supporting characters more than the centeral mystery which will likely leave me disappointed. Like what did the Dr who was going to commit suicide see?

I'm not overwhelmed with questions the way I get with Lost, which truthfully is a bad thing because it means I don't care all that much.

I can remember the 1st season of Lost combing the Fuselage for hints and theories and I don't feel compelled to do that with this show.

But then again, I do find it entertaining enough to keep on my DVR.

Good point. I did watch Lost in the beginning, and I remember reading everything I could about it...here, and other websites. This show, I kind of sit back, observe, and then maybe have a question or 2.

My question from last night is: if her attack (possible spoiler) killed her (and it looked like she was dead to me), what does that mean for her flash forward--obviously it can't happen now.

Not a Spoiler: Logically, if the Flash Forward must all come true, then the show is going to be a big let-down, and forget about a second season. Just finding out how and why won't be enough to sustain the show long-term IMHO. However, it seems clear to me that the producers are trying to delay the reveal of this fact (that the Flash Fowards were a view of a possible future, that could be changed) as long as they can, to milk their ability to use the uncertaintly to evoke tension. Once a Flash Forward has been dispelled, that whole mystery is over, and so they have one less thing on which to draw us into the story.

I agree with what all of you are saying. With Lost, especially with the first season, I think the isolation of all of the main characters on the island and having them only interact with each other worked a lot better. The whole first season was mostly spent developing all of these characters, and then with the flashbacks we were able to find out even more about the characters. With FlashForward, we're still barely getting to know all of these characters and they're already bringing in too much other stuff too fast. I know they have to for this show because it involves everyone in the world, but it just seems the formula of Lost worked a lot better for this type of show.

I think they really need to work on getting us invested in these characters so we care more about the questions surrounding them. I still think it's a very interesting show, but so far it's no Lost. I also don't understand why with the whole show being about the flash forwards they would get to that point in the show so quickly. What's going to happen after that? More flash forwards? I mean, that is the title of the show... I just don't understand how the storyline we're on now can last several seasons. :confused3

One thing that has been bothering me is the flash fowards of the LA FBI Director Stanford. The first episode showed him having flash fowards of the 6 am meeting in London but then the last few episodes showed him having flash fowards of being in the bathroom sitting on the toilet.

What's up with that?? I don't get it.

The London meeting was a flash forward someone else had, I was confused by this at first too. I just did a search to find an image to post of him on here and found this page. http://theflashforward.com/Al_Gough This website might be helpful, going to go explore it now.

We're watching.... we consider it the best new broadcast network television series in the last couple of years.

Dh and I agree. I seem to recall you were a Pushing Daisies fan also. That was the last new series that we enjoyed.

ok, this isn't about Lost, it's about Flash Forward. i haven't seen Lost, and everyone talking about it, makes me.....well...lost.

So can we stick to discussion on this show?

I think this show gets better every week, there are a lot of subtle unanswered questions that go on. Yes, there are a lot of side stories, but we'll probably get small glimpses of them in future episodes.

The ending of this week's episode was crazy...those guys definitely looked asian who were shooting at them, but hearing all of the talk about the Chinese, I bet they're not Chinese.

It will be interesting to see if the female FBI agent is dead. I think the scene where she had an opportunity to go on a date with the guy but chose to go on a date with the girl was a pivotal moment for her and maybe that caused her death. She didn't date the guy and get preggers and ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I think the girl with the drowning flashforward is being baptized...I don't think she is being murdered.

There is still a lot of room for interpretation in the forwards assuming they have to come true. There is a lot of leeway in a way because you don't know what is going around what they saw, what happens right before the time, what is going around that they don't see, what happens five minutes later that can leave a lot of room for things to still happen. For instance, perhaps the babysitter is killed but since they shared the flash there is someone there to stop the killer and revive her right away. I think this will be interesting to see how things pan out. I mean could you be unconcious at the time of your flash and see nothing but see it as your death? I am enjoying the questions raised. Does knowing your future change mean you can change what happens?

What if you're asleep in your flash forward but dreaming, would your flash forward be about the dream you're having while asleep, therefore not be anything real...hmm...

Does knowing your future change mean you can change what happens?
Or does it mean that you somehow act in such a way as to make it come true, even if you don't want it to? That seems to be what's happening in at least one case, given tonight's episode.

It looks like they're still being very coy about whether or not these things that happen in the future will come true or not...we may still not know for a while...

The big thing I'm wondering about this is, if this is an "experiment" that went wrong, was the experiment supposed to let people see their future or was it an unforseen side effect that will bring down the people who created it.....hmm....

I don't know how the tv show is going to take it, but in the book its believed to be a result of a particle acceleration experiment to recreat the energy levels just after the big bang, at C.E.R.N the unfortunate part is the lead scientist's fiancee little girl is one of the people killed during the black out period.

I think Simon sorta explained things. There are 2 potential futures but you have already decided which one is true. Now did people see the truth or the alternative? Or did some people see the truth and others the alternative?

Well I guess we have our answer as to whether or no the future can be changed.

I am still curious as to the flash forward that demetri's fiance had. Was he really in it?
