Offical FlashFoward Thread-Spoilers Possible

She never said she saw his face.

I am still curious as to the flash forward that demetri's fiance had. Was he really in it?

Finally caught up on the last two weeks. She said she never saw him, but she knew it was him. In Olivia's flash forward, she said she knew she was in love with the man she saw downstairs, even though she had never seen him before. So I don't know? There's still that phone call he got saying that he'll be murdered. And how about Janice not being able to get pregnant now?

...almost not able to, it's still not 100% that she won't IIRC

Right, it makes the chances even less likely than they already were, though. She's 17 weeks along in the flash forward, which would mean her date of conception would be around New Year's Eve. The dates of the show go along with real time, though, (with the season finale being on April 29th, the date in the flash forwards) so the show will be on its winter hiatus then. Hmmm... I think too much :confused3

RadioNate's post really has me thinking, though. I would assume that all people either saw the truth or all of them saw the alternative, since people who were in each other's flash forwards saw the same thing.

So what does everyone think about the agent that took his own life? What does say about the future? Harsh way to try and change it, I say.

So we know it is possible to change. It's given them hope that they can change what they saw. Maybe Demetri saw (or didn't see) a possible future and he fiance saw him on the beach which is also a possible future. (Although she didn't see his face so it could have been someone else.)

Maybe the flash forward doesn't show them what will happen, but in some fashion shows them (1) what they truly, subconsciously want to happen (kind of like the Mirror of Erised in Harry Potter) or (2) what they truly fear. And that's why the flash forwards are so compelling, but they're being misled by thinking that they are the future.

Just a thought.

Interesting thought.

Ok, last night's episode...

The ending was predictable, he shoots a guy with a tattoo as if that is the only guy on earth with that tattoo...I knew there had to be an organization behind it...and just a wild guess here, Jerhico?

I knew that there were going to be more guys with tattoos too. I was hoping we'd find more out this episode than we did. Oh well, I still find the show interesting.

Yes, I'll keep watching it also...there's enough of storylines to keep me intrigued for the moment

MTE

It seemed rather obvious.

I can't believe Mark thought that there was only 1 guy with the tattoos. Duh. I'll be shocked if the tattooed guys weren't Jericho.

oh yeah, that's how Jericho is spelled :p, I was waaay off

What about the mention last night of the many worlds theory? I thought that was interesting. Flashforward = vision of a parallel universe?

They better be able to do at least as good a job with the "parallel universe" theories than Star Trek does or they'll lose me entirely.

And the fact that they know about the future and are trying to find the future means they've changed the future. (Temporal Prime Directive, any one?)

I'm getting tired with Mark's tirades and going off half-cocked.

I hope they're going somehow to speed things up - I'm getting a bit bored.

Yeah, they're speeding things up...by delaying new episodes until March 2010 :sad2:

Why does ABC want to kill shows before they really get going???

One other note, I like the show, yes I agree Mark's tirades and actions are a bit extreme, but the only thing I really don't like about the show is Tom (?) the other alcoholic...his acting is baaad. Something about him just doesn't seem like he's really doing the role.

Other than that, Moynahan (sp?) is doing a great job, so is the FBI chief, he's cool.

They don't. They recognize that viewers tend to not watch episodes consistently in December, due to the holidays, and that is unacceptable for a show with a strong story-arc, such as Flash Forward. So there is no logic in presenting the show until at least January.

The Winter Olympic Games will be held February 12-28, 2010. This is event television in the extreme, and there will be especial interest this time because the games are being held on the continent. It is even more optimal, for the broadcaster of the games, because the games are in the Pacific time zone, which means that many premiere medal events can be carried live all over the continent. Again, there is no logic in presenting a show with a strong story-arc, like Flash Forward, when so many of its viewers will be distracted by the spectacle of the Olympic Games.

Swiping the show on and off air, off in December, on in January, off in February, on in March, is also incompatible with the concept of a show with a strong story-arc.

Essentially, all these inescapable realities means that the very best approach to presenting Flash Forward involves putting it on hiatus until the show can be broadcast for a reasonably extended period of time, and that means pushing the next episode out until after the Olympic Games.

Which is exactly what ABC is doing.

A lot of people complain that this is what killed similar shows in the past, like Jericho. However, note that those people never seem to have any proof that the alternative would have been better for the show. There is no reason to believe it would have been.

It is very possible that the nature of today's television viewer is incompatible with shows with strong story-arc.

I hope that they replay the season closer to the new episodes because I am going to forget what is happening by then!
