Offbeat money saving tip!

So I am one of those people that signs up for emails from all the companies that I love. The problem with that is I'm getting at least 10 emails a day telling me about fabulous, incredible SALES from all these companies.

I am compelled to open them and then go to the website to see whats on sale and then at times I admit I have purchased things I didn't need simply because its on sale!

So one offbeat money saving tip I have is to unsubscribe to these emails! If I don't know about it I dont care about it!

I have the same problem. Right now my problem is computer games. I have a Facebook profile full of friends that are adventure game fans and every other day they are posting links to discounted bundles of games and kickstarters for wonderful games. It's $7 here, $5 there, but it adds up.

I set up rules in my email account so all those "great sale" emails go directly to my trash folder. My email program doesn't delete them right away from trash so that way I can just look in my trash for the most recent email with promo codes if I decide I need to buy something, but I'm not seeing them on a daily basis.

This is exactly what I have done. If I need something I look around for a deal but I don't follow any sale link if it isn't on my list of things to buy!
Saves a lot of money!

Oh amen. I just delete them now and it takes a lot to not even look! I keep reminding myself that spending $18 to save $2 when I wouldn't have spent the $20 in the first place is NOT savings.

exactly! haha my biggest problem is probably with the Disney.com emails though! and I'm sure we ALL can relate!!
Right now is the 40% off sale and I have 6 things in my cart for $56 but do I really need 4 drinking cups (1 for each of us) and 3 tshirts for the girls?!?!? NOO but I WANT THEM!!!!!
