Have a great time!

Okay, so I figure this is a good place to ramble and vent about everyday things! LOL Lucky us gets to start selling Girl Scout cookies soon. This year I have TWO kids selling. Ack! How will we sell enough! lol :confused3

Finally got moved into the house (unpacked is a whole OTHER story) and DH had to go back to the old house last night to pick up his car. So, last night it was just me and DS6. At 3:00 in the morning he comes to pay me a little visit. I was sound asleep and all of a sudden there is a little face right in front of mine bopping back and forth and singing "There's a great big beatiful tomorrow..." It was entirely too funny. Now we are off to find the way to the mall. I've been past it twice, but can't seem to get there on my own. I hate driving somewhere new!

So it all started when my aunt sold her house to the neighbors, and my sister who rents the basement apartment from her has been asked to move out. Now we're trying to find her a new place to live. We can't possibly afford a house for her, so we're thinking of alternative means of homehunting. Likewise, our landlady is in her mid-90's and could go any time.

What we really need is a house, which we can't afford in this city anywhere for any price. Not even I can get a low-rent apartment on account that I don't make enough money. I know this, because I tried to apply for low-rent housing, and was rejected because, according to my mom, they figure out how much you can afford on rent, utilities, food, and other expenses, and based on what I make, I couldn't afford to live there.

At this rate, I'd wind up living in a cardboard box in a dark alley. :(

I will keep you in my thoughts while you try to find a place. I know how bad cost of living is up there (which is why we moved back to VA) so I want to spread some pixie dust your way :wizard:
Don't give up hope! Remember, when a door closes somewhere a window will open for you!

He has plenty of pixie dust :wizard: He absolutely loves CoP, in spite of being stuck on it for 20 minutes last year. LOL I ought to consider it just desserts, though....I sing the same song to him at bedtime and to wake him up in the morning for school. It just puts us both in a good mood :sunny:

I read about that on the VMK site. I am picking up a copy this weekend. On VMK site, a few have said that they mention VMK in the book as well.

Just got back from London today, and am pretty sure I botched up the proper eating of Fish + Chips. So, I was staying in South Bank, and who could pass up a grungy little dive called Fishcoteque, near the Waterloo station?

So, you've got a wedge of lemon, tartar sauce, a bottle of vinegar, and catsup, to go with your Fish + Chips. Too late now, but for future reference, what goes on what?

Is it lemon and/or tartar sauce on the fish, and vinegar and/or catsup on the chips? Do you use both, or just one? I put vinegar on the fish. It was fine, but then I saw someone get a wax paper bag of chips (fries for us Americans), and the owners sprinkled vinegar on it.

Oh, and I'm sure people were staring at me, the barbaric American, when I noticed that I was holding my fork upside-down from how everyone else was... All right, now I'm babbling (tired right now). Don't mind me.

It's good to be back.

I have some serious Senioritis! Grr! I am so done with college. I feel like I have been going forever. Two more semesters and I am out of here! Then, there is grad school or law school! I hate it that one has to go one of these other places of higher learner just to get a decent job. It is like some big cosmic joke. AAHHHHH!!! sorry! Had to vent!

I really understand!! That's how I felt my last year of undergrad! As far as going on to grad or law school, I didn't have much option...I didn't exactly pick the best course of study to actually get a job with. Never saw any jobs asking for a double major in History and Political Science with a minor in French. (I guess I could have moved to France and been a researcher of political history! :rotfl: )

Although my last year of college was spent goofing off a lot! When I finished all my schooling and the real world was waiting, I so wished I was still in school and didn't have to face the "real world" and think that I was going to be working the rest of my life! (Especially if I'm gonna pay off those student loans! lol)

Senioritis here too, but mine has lasted for 15 years now. <sigh>

Thank you (and peoplemover!)

It was a good trip, punctuated by moments of cluelessness. Like, waiting at the airport at the sign for the "trolley" to bring me to baggage claim (apparently, a trolley is a word for a luggage cart, and it wasn't going to bring me anywhere).
