Off to Wal-mart right now...which ponchos?

I bought Coleman brand. $.99 each. We wore them in rain at Epcot (fit over our back pack even) as well as on Kali River Rapids.

:umbrella:

That's what we get also..they work great. They just aren't as long as the disney ponchos are.

Don't get the $6.99 ponchos. They're super strong and heavy, and as a result, too hot! I stopped using those after the first time we tried them, and went exclusively to the $.99 variety! Do stock up on the cheap ones though, since you'll end up throwing them away each day and wearing new ones. (Not very environmentally friendly, I know...) I used to get four of each color, so that we could match and locate each other in a crowd. :flower:

I get the .99 ones and then you can just put them in your purse they are so small. I buy a few then toss them if I want to, I hate drying those things out.

The Dollar Tree (or most other dollar stores) have 2 packs.

They are the ones I get. They are lightweight, see-through and cheap enough to throw away when we're done with them.

Ooh, maybe I'll send my mom to get those.

Just curious, how much are ponchos in the parks? Are those ponchos reusable?

Shel

I'm going to my local dollar store. There 2 for $1.00 and at the end of the trip we pitch them because there so cheap. They don't take up much room either.

Anyone know how much they are and if they are reusable? I may get one there for both of my girls as a souvie.

Thanks

Shel

Anyone know how much they cost in the parks?

These are all great tips! Thanks~

Here's great tip if you get caught out in a chilly Florida WIND.

Put on your sweaters and warmest clothing, then ADD the poncho over everything.

They absolutely STOP the wind from chilling through your sweaters etc.

I had to use one of the .79 ponchos from Wal-Mart while I was in Epcot. I would not buy this one again. It was too thin. It was essentially thinner plastic than you may find in the plastic bag that newspapers are delivered in. It was very lightweight and very cool, but it did not hold up well at all.

I bought the Dollar store ones last year for our trip. I got the clear ones and the yellow ones. Word to the wise - DON'T BUY THE YELLOW ONES!!!! They permanently stained all of our clothes and ruined my kid's fav shirts. Next time I will still buy the dollar store ones, but only the clear ones.

The mickey ones at the parks are reusable I think. I've seen people wear them at other theme parks. I'm not sure how durable they are as I've never bought one. I figured they would get more use out of a t-shirt or beach towel for a souvie. I think they were about $8.00 each when we were there in 2001. They could be more though. Maybe someone who knows exactly will post the price.

We bought a child's poncho last November for the Kali Ride for ds. I believe it was between 5 and 6 dollars. I expected it to be expensive but it was very reasonable.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to keep the $1 in our bag just in case we are out somewhere and can't get to a place to buy some, but in the meantime, I'm going to plan on buying one at the parks for the girls. Even if it is only good for a few times, it would be a nice souvie.

Thanks!

Shel

What color are the ones sold in the park? I just want to be sure to get a different color. Thanks
