We stayed on Sanibel, but liked Captiva so much we are staying there this time. It is a wonderful place, you will not regret your decision.

OOOOOOOOOOH Kevin, loved your trip report!! really excited now!!
Where are you staying in Captiva? We have the choice o4 villas! a couple near the village( as you said walking is a good idea after a few beers esp at such low prices mind you they might have risen now we are going!) or near Roosevelt channel which is further out and we will need to drive into the village.
So which should we choose?
One has a sep cottage which might be useful for the mum in law!! but that is the on e further out.
All/any info really appreciated

You may find http://www.captiva-island.com/amrc/capmap.htm useful. It shows a map of Captiva with many rental properties on it. Having said that we are not staying at any of these!
We are staying at the Sun and Moon House at http://www.captiva-rental.com/index.html
This is on Wightman Lane which is smack in the middle of Captiva village. Not far to stagger, let's hope I don't fall in the pool.

We have 4 options and the one I think we will go with is called BAY JAH VIEW as in deja vu!!!!!!!! its very close to the bubble room on the bayside. Not finalised yet though so fingers crossed!!
How long are you going for Kev?
Is captiva your only destination this time or are you doing Disney again?
From your countdown it seems you will soon be off. Can we expect a full report?

I cant quite believe we can afford to stay here can you imagine how much a villa like this would be in Spain/Cyprus etc?
Before we decided on disney we were off to spain and a villa no where near as grand was £2,000 pw with a private pool.
