We feel like we've covered all of WDW over the years so this time I want to know your favorite off the beaten path find. Be it a store, a ride, a food or just something to look at, what have you found that's not in plain view?
My example would be downtown: I liked watching the men roll cigars in the cigar shop. I am also an aquarium fan and loved looking at the ciclid fish aquariums in AK.

We always love going to Cinderella's Wishing Well on the path beside the castle - you can throw in change for the Make a Wish Foundation. We also love sitting by the lake on the benches at DTD at night on the West End beside the ice cream shop. DH likes to smoke cigars, so he gets one at the cigar shop and then we go over and watch the lake / people watch while he smokes it. There's usually not many people through there even when downtown is busy. When we stay at POP, we take an evening and walk from one end of the lake to the other reading the signs about what occurred during each decade. Can't leave out Beaches & Cream...

We like the strolling entertainers on the Boardwalk. My kids got a kick out of the Amazing Carlo, who we saw doing the same act in 2002 and 2004. We'll see if he's still there soon!

I like to hang around after the park closes, One good technique is go with the one you love for a meal, getting a late Priority Seating, and eat up all slowly, for example the Blue Bayou and then, when you come out the park is empty, and you can stroll around, in what would normally be busy places. If you find a nice bench you can sit down and soak up the mood music, and have a really romantic time.

I have also this plan, for August, I'm going to go to the beach at the Polly and sit in the hammocks at around two in the morning, and just lie back and enjoy the starsmwith my loved one.

You might notice that I think sleep is for wimps. Actually that's not true, that's what the hot busy afternoons are for.

Cheers Larry.

I didn't know they were so romantic in Scotland. Like your style Larry. :thumbsup2 Only problem is my mom will be tagging along. Guess we will just have to wait till she's asleep and hit the beach at midnight! :rotfl2:

Thanks Larry

I love to take the "secret" passageway from Tomorrowland to Toon town. It's always sooooooooooooo quiet and peaceful, even on the busiest days. I also love going to the guisers(sp?) over by Big Thunder first thing at park opening. Again, so peacefful. You feel like you have the park to yourself.

Not sure if they are still there, it's been a while since I've been up there and I know there was a rehab of the station, but in the Main Street Station there are quite a few "old fashioned" games/machines. There was an amazing organ type thing if I remember correctly. Very cool. Nice place to cool down. Noone ever spends much time there. All too busy rushing to catch a train. :teeth:

Can I also suggest keeping your eyes open when touring World Showcase. The international CMs are encouraged to create games and activites with the guests. As a former UK Pavilion CM, I have created many different activites. My favourite being "Find the Crowns" i.e. there are 10 golden crowns hidden in the store, can you find them all? Note, these games are not just for little kids, big kids are just as likely to have a blast. You never know what sort of creative game a CM will come up with. :thumbsup2

The Blue Bayou is one of our FAVORITE Disney restaurants.

Its the first Disney restaurant we ever had a full meal in (years ago).

It kind of a long walk, though.

Its inside the "Pirates of the Caribbean" attraction...

In DISNEYLAND, CALIFORNIA.
