I would like to send the following to Michael Eisner... If you must move this post, I understand, but please help me figure out how to e-mail this to someone who may care!

During "Braceface" aired on ABC Family at 5:00PM, my 4 and 8 year old daughters were subjected to several promotional pieces for the "Last Resort". During a particularly offensive piece, a male participant referred to his wife sleeping with another man. This is not an exposure to relations that I believe any child should be exposed to while watching a children’s' animated TV show. While I enjoy reality TV, I have chosen not to expose my children to this form of entertainment.

I felt that my children’s' viewing of the pieces warranted an immediate discussion about the material; one that I was not prepared to give. After a second airing of the commercial, I asked my daughter to turn off ABC Family, as it became apparent that it was not aired in error.

Of particular concern to me is that Disney owns ABC. My family and I are regular guests of the Disney Resorts, Parks and Cruise Line, purchasers of Disney merchandise, owners of several dozen Disney Videos, and previous Annual Pass holders. While the Disney experience has always been a wholesome one, and one that protects children from the harsh realities of the real world, the ABC disregard for my children’s' emotional well-being has led me to call my own judgment into question.

I sincerely hope that this will not continue, and that it was only a temporary lapse of wisdom on the part of ABC Family's executives.

Sincerely yours,
Mike A

Network executives, along with advertisers, are the key decision-makers in Hollywood, and they decide what options you'll have in television programming.

With your help, the PTC will convince them to consider the wants and needs of the family viewing audience. Help us urge them to restore the "Family Hour" and clean up prime-time television.

How can you make a difference? It’s EASY!

Just decide which network and prime time show(s) you wish to comment on...

Then take action! Write a short note, call, or send an e-mail. Every telephone call, letter, and e-mail really does make a difference! Please contact the networks today!

What do you tell them?

Name the show

Tell them if you approve or disapprove of it

Give your reasons why

Say if you will or will not watch the show

Say you are also contacting the advertisers!

Say you support the efforts of the Parents Television Council!

Ummm, he runs Disney, and Disney owns ABC. I would say that he is "where the buck stops"!

Hummmm.....well....I *suspect* you might not appreciate just how big the company is....I'd suggest you do 2 things;

1) email your concerns....as outlined...to ABC...and shown in cherylp3's post..AND...

2) send the same...in written form to ME's office as shown in WillyJ's response.

I knoe I'm "goofy"...but I honestly think this plan stands the best chance of getting you message accross! :)

I hope this helps! :)

Also I would suspect that showing the Last resort commercials violated the TV shows Y7 rating, you could contact the FCC - Federal Communications Commition Regarding this 1-888-225-5322 or email: fccinfo@fcc.gov

I agree that shouldn't EVER be 'adult tv' related commercials during cartoons. TV has gotten so out of control with what they show, we as parents can keep them from watching the shows, but what about the commercials during 'children's' tv time?

What exactly is "The Last Resort" ? A movie? TV show on another channel?

"reality TV" about married couples contemplating divorce on TV. It is one reality show that I will not watch.

It is aired on ABC Family.
