Hi, pretty new to the boards... just have a quick question. If my DF and I are getting married off-site, can we have Randy Chapman come out and take pictures of us around "the World"?

I would email him and ask if he would do this. Obviously you won't be able to get pictures in the park, and I would be cautious around the WP in a wedding dress. I don't think the Disney police are going to come after you if you are at any other area (resorts, wishes cruise, etc.). Especially if you are with someone like Randy who is regular photographer around there. It just depends on where you want them taken at.

I went to Randy's website and saw some engagement photos actually IN the parks. We will be at Disney World for our honeymoon... is having a photographer with you in the park for a honeymoon or engagement or family portrait shoot against Disney Law? hehe disney law.. I crack myself up.

It is my understanding that Randy is not aloud in the parks unless it is for an actual ceremony/reception/dessert party held by DFTW. Otherwise-- he cant shoot professionally there. Also- you are not aloud inside any of the WDW theme parks in your wedding dress unless you are having a DFTW inside that park that day.

Having said that, im sure Randy is a great family guy and likes to take his kids to WDW every now and again-- i wonder what they would do if he took his camera and got some shots of his kids there? Haha-- just a thought.

He shoots a lot of his engagement photos around the resorts... so that is quite possibly an option for you if you want to consider it. Where are you considering getting married? In the Orlando area or at home?

GL:thumbsup2

Well, the truth is, we were actually civilly married on june 17th of last year. However, we are LDS and are getting married in the Washington D.C. temple in September. The difference between the two ceremonies is that at the civil ceremony, you are married until you die but once you have been sealed together int he temple, you are married for eternity. So naturally, our temple marriage is the important one to us. Normally, you wouldn't have two "weddings" with receptions and honeymooons and pictures and stuff but for our first wedding, our photographer cancelled on us at 9 oclock the night before our wedding so it is important for us to have some sort of professional photography. Disney World is our favorite place in the world so would have loved to have professional photography inside the parks... :sad1:

I recommend getting photo pass photos taken all over WDW and then stepping into the Kodak shop and get the photo pass cd! You then would have photos from all over WDW and be able to use them!!

If you want them aroudn the resorts I woudl certainly give Randy a phone call-- im not sure if youve seen some around the grand floridian, POFQ, etc but they are beautiful and just as worth it!

GL!

You can also contact Disney Photographic Services to ask about packages they have. They are professional photographers employed by Disney.

You can contact them at (407) 827-5099 to see what packages they might have.

The photopass idea is a good one, however, those CM's are not professional photographers.

...Or, if you really, really, REALLY want photos in the park, you could schedule an Escape Vow renewal and book the Magic Kingdom photoshoot. Let's see... that's three weddings, at least $3,000 for the VR, plus $1,000 for the MK Shoot, and $750 if you want the CD of all your pictures before 3 years have gone by...

But I, for one, would be crazy enough to do it! :rotfl:

Now THAT's a great idea!:thumbsup2 :rotfl:

What are photo pass pictures? although we love disney, we have a lot to learn!!

I realize that the escape VR might not be in you sights, but the photopass will give you photographs around WDW. They are just people who take photographs of you around WDW and put them on a card and then you take your card full of photographs from each different photopass stop and you can get a CD with all of them on it. Photopass places include in front of the castle at MK, in front of the hat at MGM, with characters, on Test Track-- places like that! If you are looking to go cheap this is the way to go, IMO. Otherwise i would consider randy or a VR.

hey lurkyloo... it IS a great idea!!! I wish we were independently wealthy 22 year olds and then we COULd do that!!! haha.. seriously though, someday we will right? Thanks everyone for your opinions... its kind of like welcoming me into the DIS family!! (don't judge me by my corniness :) )

i understand it is hard to up and plan something like that when you werent really considering it. Think about the photo pass thing-- it might work out for you...

thanks we definitely will... I just want to get a photgrapher to follow us around and take candids of us all day... hey, I can dream right?

also with the vow renewal, it comes with the actual vow renewal ceremony and we won't need that since we are getting married in the temple so it would be a waste for us

GL with it!! Let us know what you decide!! DH and I had a couple great photo pass photos.... its something you can do inexpensively, and although they arent professional photographers-- it will accomplish what you are trying to do. You can also just ask nice folks to take photos with your camera of you at each stop. Most families dont mind helping other ppl out taking photos:goodvibes
