At my last trip to Disney I stayed at OKW for the first time. I had the dining plan but was not thrilled with it. One evening my family ventured off site and found a Chilis. We ordered to go and loved it (cheaper and it was nice not to have to eat in a restaurant).
I am returning to Disney in January and staying at OKW again. At our trip in May we only ate off site that one time. So I did not pay attention to what other restaurants were in the area. A waitress at Chilis said there was a Winn Dixie right down the road.
Can you tell me if there are any other major chain restaurants in that area. I won't be getting the DP it's not for us and I hate to cook while on vacation, but love some take out.
Thank You.

Red Lobster is in the shopping center where Gooding's is located, just past Hotel Plaza Blvd. There is a Chevy's and a McDonald's there too as well as a Pizzaria Uno. Down near where you were is a Macaroni Grill if I am not mistaken, and in the other direction on 535, after you go under I-4 is a Bahama Breeze and Golden Corral. I know there are lots of others, I just can't remember right now. Maybe someone else will post more. HTH!

There is an Olive Garden on the other side of the road from Chili's--actually before you even get to Chili's. There is a Bennigan's if you go to the right on 535. If you go to the right on 535 and turn left just after the I-4 overpass, there is a Landry's. Continue further down that road to Premium Outlets. Just past the Outlets (which are on the right) is an Outback Steakhouse (on the left).

There is a Giordano's if you come down Hotel Plaza Blvd and make a left on to 535. Go maybe 2 traffic lights and it will be in a little shopping center on your right (this is where there is also a Kinkos and the Lake Buena Vista post office). There is dine-in as well as delivery right to your OKW villa door : ttp://www.giordanosflorida.com/default.htm

Would you walk to any of these places from Downtown Disney or is it too far to go - instead just get a cab from OKW?

The only places I'd even attempt a walk to from DD would be those located in the Crossroads shopping center. You will need to cross a busy road (SR 535) that has traffic going in several different directions. I'd guestimate it's about a 15-20 min walk from the Marketplace area ? You would find Perkins, Pizzeria Uno, Jungle Jim etc in this shopping center.
