Are we allowed to ask on this forum for Recommendations/Warnings about Orlando area restaurants that are not in Disney World?

I've posted a long question/message on the 'budget' board and would love any input anyone might have - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=725923

We do plan to eat inside the Magic Kingdom and other parks/resort locations while we're there, but we'll probably eat off-site for a few meals too.

THANKS!
Elaine

You might want to ask in the Orlando Hotels and Attractions forum.

Funny, I looked at your thread. Although I don't live in the city of Orlando, I live in the Orlando area. I can say that I have never heard of any of the restaurants you listed!

I am going to look around that site you linked to. Looks pretty extensive.

EDIT: Others may disagree, but in my opinion, heading to downtown Orlando from WDW is just too far to go for a meal.

Thanks for the input. I'll definitely have to check out the distance if we do decide to try one of these restaurants to see if it would be worthwhile ... but I'm not talking about leaving in the middle of a day at the park and coming back into the park ... we'll eat in the park on those days.

We'll be staying on-site at Disney, but I'll be traveling to the UCF campus two days for a conference ... I figure on those days we may dine 'off site' for dinner ... and/or we may have lunch or dinner off-site on the day we arrive and leave as we drive through Orlando.
