Hi! I'm sooo excited that this is my first venture into any chat site! I'm from western Canada and will be taking my family (we have 2 boys ages 10 and 15) to WDW for the very first time in NOV. With the horrible exchange rate, we need to go as cheaply as possible. We found a place through Travelhero-Super 8 Motel-Maingate, 7571 West Orlo, Bronson Highway, Kissimmee. We are a bit nervous about what it'll be like. We don't mind basic, but it must be very clean, safe and have good shuttle service.
Has anyone every stayed there before? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You can get more details about most Super-8 motels online at the Super8 website (pictures, rates, details, etc). They currently list rates as 45-60 us$/night (I dont recall what you listed for your rate). Anyhow, if you are going to pay 50/night to stay offsite, you might want to nose around and see if you can land a special deal at one of the All Star Disney resorts (75-85/night). You would be onsite, have access to Disney transportation, and have great pools and play areas.. Just a thought. Check out a few of the chat boards about the Disney hotels. You might be surprised at all the positive feedback.

If you are not going to have a rental car your best option is staying in a WDW resort hotel. Most offsite hotels do offer complimentary transportation to the parks - but - some run as infrequently as one in the morning to get there, and one in the evening to get back. Some of the higher end offsite resorts only offer slightly better transportation with two in the morning and two in the evening to return. We have stayed onsite and off and have found great lodging both ways - but I'd never consider staying offsite without a car. Just my opinion.

Welcome to the DIS, Baba! (And your first ever chat experience! Careful, the DIS is ADDICTIVE!)

I do not work for Dreams Unlimited Travel, so I can say this without sounding like I am looking for business, but if I were you, I would check them out. They can give you lots of great information both with Disney resorts AND offsite resorts. You cna get a free quote on offsite resorts in seconds, and you can get a free quote of a Disney Resort within a day or so via email.

What I really love about them is that if you don't use them, they will NOT email and SPAM you a million times.

PS: Kelsie is my agent there and she is fantastic! :)
