Hello!
We are ready to book lodging for our first trip to Disneyland Easter week. We are DVC owners and regularly stay deluxe at the World. That being said, as much as I would love to stay at the Disneyland hotel this is a big trip for us and with flights,a cruise,a stay in San Diego etc we have decided we cannot justify the cost of the DLH this time around. Maybe next time!

Our primary wants are cleanliness and truly a comfortable walking distance.Everything seems to say walking distance for these hotels but we do have littles so how far we walk and what we are walking by/through is very important to me.

I’ve been looking at the Hilton Gardem in Anaheim, Hotel Indigo, or the Clementine hotel. Does anyone have first had experiences with any of these or feedback? Do any standout to you as a more obvious choice? Thanks in advance, truly appreciate all of you wisdom!

You can't get any closer or cleaner than the Park Vue Inn in my limited experience. It's the only place I'd consider when staying off site.

I've stayed at the Hotel Indigo. It's a decent hotel. It was clean. The issues I had with it are: Parking is TIGHT, if you have a rental. The parking is underground, and the way there is very narrow. The second issue is that after a LONG day at the parks, it's a bit of a walk when you're tired. The plus is that it's near all the great restaurants there in the shopping center on Katela, along with an AMC theatre (we saw Eternals on opening night there). It's also close to both CVS and Walgreens if you need anything from there.

We were originally assigned a room on the first floor, however, there was an alley right outside the window, and we could see headlights off and on all night. We mentioned it to the front desk. They moved us to a room on the upper floor, in the corner. We had a FANTASTIC view of the fireworks each evening when we didn't stick around at the parks.

Overall, we'd stay there again. Just be prepared for a walk.

Courtyard as suggested above is a solid choice with no breakfast.
home2 suites on Manchester is brand new and includes breakfast. They have a fridge and sink but no cooktop.
Hilton garden inn you mention shares a lobby and pool with that home2suites.

I am a big fan of Park Vue with a small kiddo... easy and quick to get back for a nap/rest midday and at the end of a long park day. The rooms can also have a bunkbed which my kid thinks is the bees knees.

I haven’t stayed at those so no comment on them exactly but like others I say closer would be better- that’s a LONG walk after a lot of walking in the parks. We actually haven’t been willing to look at those hotels because they are just too far to justify the walk. Along with the new hotels Home2 and Hilton Garden Inn, the Hojo is fairly newly remodeled and nice- we’ve really enjoyed our stays there and honestly Its the furthest I’d walk with kids (maybe even without? Haha) I’m not sure when it’s reopening but the Candy Cane Inn is being redone and I’ve heard good things a out as well

If it matters to folks, Home2Suites offers no-charge portable cooktops if you need one.

Easter week is a busy time for the parks. Finding a reasonable price close place maybe a challenge.
Here are places on Harbor Blvd. with easy walking distance to the parks.
We like Park Vue, Tropicana and the Desert Inn & Suites.

As a bit of a hotel snob myself the three hotels that meet your criteria for me are Fairfield Inn, Courtyard, and Holidays Inn Express.

Indigo is nice but kind small and just a revamp of an old dumpy Holiday Inn Express and more of a walk than I prefer also valuing proximity

We had friends stay at the Clementine in September who said they would choose a different hotel/motel in the future because the walk was much longer than they liked. Also, the Clementine didn't have courtesy luggage storage which meant they had to wait until their room was ready since they flew in.

We've stayed next door to Hotel Indigo. While the walk wasn't bad in the mornings, I cursed myself at every hotel and motel we passed on the way back "home."

"If I had only chosen _____, we'd be back by now!" Eight or nine times each night after walking 10 miles in the parks.

Cleanliness is number 1 for us. We have someone in our travel party with OCD so dated rooms, even if perfectly clean are problematic for this person. I have never stayed in a motel but I don’t know that I would be opposed to it. For reference, our DVC home resort is Wilderness Lodge and I am NOT expecting that type of experience here. I’ve acknowleged that for this trip our “deluxe” experience will be the cruise- a first time for all of us. I am bummed the Disneyland Hotel is SO expensive for just a standard hotel room but really, the savings of staying offsite will cover our park tickets and that’s what we are hauling out there to do!

I do like theming but it’s not a must have by any means, but it is why the renovated rooms at the HoJo and the themed rooms at Fairfield stood out to me.

I anticipate minimal pool time- I’ve waited all my life to experience these parks and I’d rather sit on a bench and people watch on Main Street than be in a pool.
We also are not big breakfast people, in general. It’s usually a yogurt and or a banana.

Me? I will be holding off so I can eat my way through the parks!

I’ve stayed in both the themed rooms at the Fairfield Inn and the renovated rooms in the Hojo. I would pick the Hojo. The Fairfield has a more motel feel to it compared to the Hojo. The renovated rooms in tower 1 at Hojo feel like a hotel. Hojo has always felt very clean to me. Even the old rooms with the tile bathroom counters. All the grout was pearly white and spotless. It’s right next to the Courtyard Marriott and I feel like it’s a closer walk than any of the hotels you’ve mentioned. Plus the pool and splash pad are a bonus for the little ones.

We stayed at the Clementine back when it was Residence Inn by Marriott. Even though we loved our room, we thought it was way too long of a walk. You can find something much closer.

I don't think the OCD person is going to go for any of the hotels right across from the pedistiran entrance. I've stayed at the closest two Park Vue and Best Western and they were clean but very basic/dated/motel rooms. They just looked worn out.

Don't get me wrong I'd stay at either one again, because while not my preference (I prefer more modern or mid or higher end hotels) they were both very clean and staff was excellent but I think they might trigger your friend.

Before deciding to stay at a Disney Resort I was looking at the Hilton Anaheim. (Hilton is my default). It looked decent, had more positive reviews than bad and was not crazy far of a walk.'

I did stay at one of the Hilton brand mid ranges in 2019. Maybe the Hampton Inn in Garden Grove (down Harbour from the parks) I didn't walk it but there is the ART bus system. I Ubered and it was very affordable from there.

OMG!!!!! You just saved my vacation. I’m dreading the walk to homewood suites but I stayed in a local home2 and loved it except we need a cooktop!!!

For a person with OCD the 3 I listed are the closest new hotels and the only ones I’d personally stay in.

OMG!!!!! You just saved my vacation. I’m dreading the walk to homewood suites but I stayed in a local home2 and loved it except we need a cooktop!!!

We haven’t used it but there is a sign sitting on the countertop.

I think this Home2Suites will be our new go-to over Homewood. The walk feels short.
