Off site hotels?

If a good deal doesn't come up for Christmas for onsite hotels we will stay offsite which is something I've only done once before.

We have priced up the kyraid and the explorers which come out roughly the same so my question is which would you stay at?

Also what's the breakfast like at both and what are the buses like?

Thanks...I really just want to get it booked.

I think the Explorers is the better hotel, especially if you're visiting with children. The big advantage is the pool, it's excellent. The Kyriad doesn't have one.

They're both good hotels and you'll enjoy either but the Explorers is normally more expensive than the Kyriad and for a good reason.

They share a bus so there both the same in that aspect. They come ever 15 minutes or so. They do get busy at peak times but they're ok.

It's just two adults going so don't have to consider kids. As I said they are both currently the same price :confused3 We are also going during school time so hoping it will be fairly quiete.

So just two adults which hotel is the best?

Out of the 2 I think Kyriad has a more of a grown up feel about it. Explorers is nice and is really well themed but I liked the bright airy rooms in the Kyriad.

Breakfast is similar in both - a buffet similar to onsite ones

Do either/both of them offer cancellation with no cost as I think Elaine booked Explorers once and then cancelled when a good deal came up for onsite - this might be an option worth looking at

The explorers is £173 for two nights and can be cancelled up to 72 hrs before
Kyraid is : £160 the cheapest you can cancel up to 24 hrs before

So not sure if to book when we can get Eurostar prices then cancel if on site is better.

Just for peace of mind (but we are going at June half term so wanted something in the bag!) I have booked our hotel now (magic Circus) as it can be cancelled nearer the time.

I would suggest booking the Kyriad now, and then at least you have something to fall back on if no onsite deals come up. When are you going?

We are not going until the end of November. We are not stuck with specific days just whatever is cheapest.

I phoned Eurostar and there currently booking until 9th November. They said they get released in batches anybody know if that's true?

Also anybody know how much aps are?

I think once we have booked our Eurostar and know definite days we will book the kyraid and cancel if onsites better.

There are discounted APs available form this site,
http://www.ce-multiavantages.com/visuPage.php?id=404&ids=115,170,299,443
but I have no idea how long this offer is going to last for. Once you order from them, they send to a tickeet that you exchange for an AP once you get to the Parks. BUT you have 6 months from buying the ticket to exchange it for a pass, so you wouldn't be able to do this until end of July, if this offer was still on.

Info on the APs, costs and benefits can be found here:

Such a useful website!

Hope this helps :thumbsup2

I have read about CE-multiadvantage and if the offers still there when we go we will buy from them. I'm going again next year as well probably march/April time are all the blackout days for next year available yet? I'm thinking the fantasy would do me ok.

Thanks for all your help it's been great. Sent lots of info to my friend so see what she thinks.

Thanks, it's just seems there's a lot more block out days for the fantasy pass this year than next year.

Do you get 10% off all restaurants and what about counter service meals? Also if I go with family next year if we all sit together for a meal can I get 10% off the whole meal?

Thanks again, got so many questions.

That's because the rest of the dates won't be known until after April this year.

There will be 35 blackout days total in 2013.

You get 10% of all food and drink so t/s-c/s and buffets and it's for the whole table.
If you are paying by card you'll have to pay for it all and your family pay you as they won't make up separate bills with the discount.

The Cemultiavantages offer has been around for years but it's only recently that it's become known to people from outside France.

There are several others very similar so I'm sure you'll find one :)

Thank you Carrie_Cat did think all the dates weren't there.

As long as the whole table get 10% off we can figure out bill later.

Glad to know they pretty much always do the ap at these kind of rates. Anybody know how much postage is so I know exactly how much they may cost?

Atm it's 6,70€. Not sure when the next postal rates increase is.

As you don't need the childs AP look nearer the time for a flash sale through Fnac or Carrefour. There was one a week or so ago with Fantasy AP's at 109€ and you printed out your eticket for 50cts more :)

Oh 109€ even better as we are not going for ages yet I will wait and see. Do you have 6 months to change them to full APs on those sites also? So if a flash sale comes up for instance in June would we be able to get them to November?

No, not that long as it's a flash sale so only lasting a short time. The last one was from the 10/02/2012 until the 19/02/2012 and it was extended until the 26/02/2012.

You had until the 30th of April to exchange the eticket into a AP

Thank you so much for your help. If we go down the ap route I will leave it till as late as possible.

With your ap do you get money off drinks at hotel bars? Sorry for all the questions.
