I'm looking for some recommendations for off-site hotels that are SAFE and reasonable. I've been trying for on-site at any of the three hotels with every discount and there is nothing available at Easter. I'll keep trying and may even try Priceline closer to April but I'd like some other choices in case nothing comes up for those dates. Thanks

Many choices.
The Holiday Inn and Radisson Kirkman Road are within walking distance of the parking garage. They're literally across the street.

I stay here all the time and like it.
If you don't have a rental car then stay at the Holiday Inn or Radisson. If you have a rental car then consider the Hojo or any cheap hotel along International Drive.

Hampton Inn Sandlake was great.. It was on the corner of Sandlake Road and Universal Blvd.

Back in August it was a $39 night, and that included breakfast. It was about a 5 minute drive to USF parking garage.

We stayed at the Amerisuites across from Universal twice. It was clean and we didn't have any security issues.

Another vote for Amerisuites. We stayed there last May thru Priceline for $33/nt. (I think) and it was a great deal for the $$. They even have a free deluxe contintental breakfast every morning.

I got the Clarion Universal for $49 a night. It's about a 5 minute drive to Universal. You can see IOA rides like Dueling Dragons and the Hulk in the distance from some rooms!

Scroll down to see my Clarion Universal review.

We have stayed at the Holiday Inn across the street. It was your typical Holiday inn :D It also has a Friday's downstairs that has a great breakfast buffet :) And just up the street is Wendy's and a few other fast food places.

Keep trying for onsite, things open up all the time!
