We will be arriving a day earlier than originally expected. I changed our ressies to get the 4/3 promo in August and have decided to fly in a day early. Any suggestions on a reasonably priced, nice hotel off property? We won't be getting in until 11pm and will check out fairly early to get to CSR to check in and get park tickets.

Also, I would prefer something mid-way to Disney so we are not back-tracking with a cab when we check out of hotel to get to CSR.

Thanks!!!

You may want to go check out the Orlando hotel and attractions board. There is alot of info over there. ;)

for late check in and basically a place to crash for a few hours I would HOTWIRE a room you can pick the area of Orlando you prefer(DTD area Seaworld etc) but won't know the resort/hotel until you commit to purchase - you can get a room for about $35(incltaxes etc) in the Disney area and its just for 1 night.

I have used Hotwire many times and never got a bad stay.

If you use hotwire you might get stuck at Westgate lakes.

I hate that place.

I've heard several good things from Mousesavers about the Hilton in DTD. Had a friend who stayed there while planning his wedding in disney and he liked it. :thumbsup2

Supposedly you get the extra magic hours perk from staying there, also.

I actually enjoyed my stay there..for $50 a night seemed a bargain. What bad experiences did you have there?

We stayed at the Hotel Royal Plaza in November and then moved to CSR the next morning. Took us about 5 min to get there. We loved the hotel and were able to walk to downtown disney and walk around and get a meal.

The check in (at 1 am) took over an hour, and that was at a not-busy time of year. The employees were bored and nasty (we call it anti-disney). The pools were supposed to be heated but were freezing. The room wasn't clean, and we got a call at 10 at night from the front desk saying "the owners have shown up, we need to move you to a different room." To which we said, we're in our pajamas, if you put us in a different room it DARN well better be an upgrade. Which it was, which was fine. Plus it's like a demilitarized zone neighborhood next door with crack ho's and boarded up windows-don't EVER leave through the back gate :scared1: .
