Hello All,

Hoping I could gather some info. for our upcoming trip this Thanksgiving. Looking for any ideas/advice and recommendations on dining options for Thanksgiving dinner. We are moving from SSR to the Hilton GVC at Seaworld on Wed the 24th, and will be on our own concerning meals for the remainder of the week.. Party consists of 4 adults and 7 children ages 12 to 5.

My primary concern is for a quality meal, not necessarily "Thanksgiving" type in nature, with budget constraints not really an issue. More than willing to pay a little more for a pleasant, quality holiday meal.

Any advice and suggestions would be appreciated:thumbsup2

Thanks much,

Ken

We spent last TG in Orlando. Based on reviews/recommendations on this board, I made reservations for TG dinner at the Gaylord Palms Resort at the Villa de Flora restaurant. It was fantastic! The resort is beautiful and the buffet and service were wonderful. We went to the "ICE" exhibit after dinner. I also recommend that, it was really cool.

last year we also did tg dinner at gaylord buffet very good food its up there with the top vegas buffet, it blows away all of disneys buffet

Thanks for the recommendation!:thumbsup2 Sounds like it might just be what we are looking for.

Ken

I forgot to add that you would want to make a reservation pretty soon for Villa de Flora for the Thanksgiving Buffet, because it sells out relatively quickly. You could always cancel later if you chose somewhere else.

I dont know... but we ate out ... and it just wasnt the same..

dh and i just bought a turkey london broil...stuffing mix ... potatoes...and the rest of the fixings... salad ... and a pie... and what do you know Thanksgiving....

What ever you choose... I hope you have a great Thanksgiving with the mouse...

I'm also looking for a place to dine for Thanksgiving dinner. We have a lot of constraints though, we get into Orlando that evening. Our flight lands at 6:30, we will have a car. I'd rather a sit down meal and somewhere that offers the traditional turkey with stuffing. It can be anywhere between the Orlando airport and Disney World...

We did that one year, and we ended up at Cracker Barrel. They had a thanksgiving meal complete with pumpkin pie. It wasn't the best Thanksgiving meal, but we were on Vacation so we didn't care.

This past year we actually just had Thanksgiving early. We invited our family and made the meal at home the week before. We found the date really doesn't matter. On the actual day of Thanksgiving we didn't have a Thanksgiving meal.

We also considered ordering a Thanksgiving meal from a local grocery store to eat in the condo, but we didn't end up doing that.

We will be arriving on Thanksgiving afternoon as well. Several years ago, we were en route to WDW and did our Thanksgiving meal at a Cracker Barrel--it was okay, but not so great that I want to do it again this time. We also debated about picking up a meal from Publix, but decided instead to have an early Thanksgiving meal at home the weekend before we leave. That way, we can enjoy all the leftovers (turkey sandwiches, yum :lovestruc) and be done with celebrating the holiday and just enjoy the vacation from the moment we get there. I was stressing about where to eat on Thanksgiving and decided that this was the best plan for us...:thumbsup2:)

Yeah I guess thats what we'll end up doing too. I had liked the grocery store idea but I don't think you can pick up stuff that late. And it would work well if we were in a condo but I think we'll be at POP Century so theres no where to eat it. I'm actually thinking of doing Thanksgiving the night before and then making turkey sandwiches with the leftovers to bring on the plane :confused3

Thanks for your input!

I also wondered about doing the dinner right before we leave, but then decided that we are waaaayyy too busy (and too darn excited! :yay:)trying to pack up and get ready for the trip the next day (we drive) to try to manage cooking a Thanksgiving dinner! We're leaving either Tues. night or Wed. morning...so the weekend before is going to work better for us. :goodvibes
