I got the FastPasses and I understand that when you go to the park they give you some kind of special ticket. Is this something I have to mention or do they already know because of your park ticket? what exactly to I say/ask for at the gate?

I think you may benefit from looking at the green link in my signature. Your admission ticket itself or MagicBand is what accesses the MDX system and FPs at every ride.

I read that post. But I bought my tickets online and then got FastPasses so is the ticket that will come in the mail what they will scan for fast passes or do they give you something else at the gate?

You will just use your park ticket.

Alesia (PP) is correct you'll just use your park ticket. Nothing to pick up at the gate. There is an RFID chip inside of the hard ticket that you have and it contains a link to your account where the info is hiding. I'm not overly technical (obviously) but it will work. Magic Bands work the same way.

At the gate (to get in) and at each attraction where you have FP+ arranged you'll hold your ticket up to the scanner.

Did you choose the will-call option on your tickets or are they being mailed to you?

They are being mailed. I'm a first timer so still trying to figure stuff out.

Once you receive the tickets, you will be using those hard plastic tickets to enter the parks and redeem fastpasses. You won't need anything else. You can buy a magic band if you wish to and use that.

Then you won't need to do anything. You'll use the tickets to get into the park and just scan your tickets at the FP+ scanners to use your FP+ reservations.

Now I don't know if I "synced" the fastpasses with my ticket. Is that part of the process for reserving the FastPasses, otherwise I have no idea if I did that?

You must have the ticket linked before you can make any fastpasses, so if you were able to make fastpasses then you are fine.
