Off site cheep yet nice hotels?

Can I get your recomendations? Want to be in walking distance, have a clean room and not pay too much per night in value season, less than $80 would be great if that is possible. Free breakfast would be a plus too!

We paid $59 a night at desert inn and suites in Feb. I have also paid $38 at Anaheim del Sol in October. They are within 5 minutes of the walkway to Disneyland. Go directly to their websites though to get the lowest price. I have also seen HOJO's for 79 during value season. Go through Mousesavers to get that price.

All are across from the entrance, and are acceptable cheap, clean motels with continental breakfast.

If you want to pay a little more (around $90) the Candy Cane Inn is my personal favorite: www.candycaneinn.net

It's down Harbor about two blocks from the entrance, has a really good breakfast and a free private shuttle every half hour. It's an easy walk.

I loved CCI and the breakfast is plentiful. Also, they offer a AAA discount. And that shuttle, when your feet are aching at the end of the day is worth its weight in gold.

During value season, you should be able to get most of the hotels along that "walkable" stretch for $80 or under. Ya just have to catch rates at the right time, enough in advance but not too far in advance. Few have any sort of good continental breakfast though. If that's important to you -- Candy Cane Inn for a few bucks more.

In the off-season, I've gotten rates as low as I think $59/night for Carousel, $69 - $79 for BWPPI. With the savings (depending on the size of your group) you could either bring your own breakfast or eat out (or make due with their offerings -- BWPPI's wasn't too bad, but we're not big on breakfast anyway).

We are making our first trip to DL(staying at DLH for 4 nights - part of a prize)and then staying for 1 night at the (Anaheim)Islander Inn on Katella Ave. We booked a room with 2 queen beds and a sofabed for $63.00. Check out their website Anaheim Islander Inn - they also have connecting rooms 4 queen beds and sofa bed - rates seemed pretty reasonable. I checked out tripadvisor and there is one fairly negative report there - but a few positive as well. They have a small continental breakfast - pastry, juice, coffee. I'll let you know what it's like if you're going after May 3.

We loved the Tropicana. We stayed there for five nights in February of this year. Its been recently rennovated and its the second property in from the crosswalk. They have a bare bones but free continental breakfast. The staff was great, room was exceptionally clean. We would definitely stay here again. We had a package that included airfare but if we had just booked separately I think it was about $60 a night. I asked them since we don't usually do packages and I was wondering what we would have to pay to stay there again off season.
