Off Site but WDW ressies?

I'm staying off site but will be visiting WDW for the majority of a 2 week stay. Can I still book for resort restaurants? I have never been to an out of parks Disney restaurant...and am a little naive.

Can I, say for example, park at MK and go in there for the day, come out and go to a resort restaurant on the mono rail and then come back to the same carpark at MK? Maybe even re-enter the park. (we have an unlimited park-hopper for our 2 week stay)

Yes to all of your questions.

The main difference for you will be that since you'll be staying off-site, you can't call at 90 days out from your arrival date and book all of your ADRs for up to the first 10 days of your vacation (this is what 90+10 refers to in the ADR threads). So, say, you arrive May 1st. 90 days out from May 1st, I believe, would be February 1st. If you were staying on site, you could call on Feb. 1st and make your ADRs for any date from May 1st-May10th. If you were staying off-site, you could only make an ADR for the 1st. The next day you could make one for the 2nd, and on and on.

If you eat at a resort hotel that is not on the monorail, simplest way if you're driving is to just drive to the resort, and tell the guard that you have a reservation for X restaurant at X time. They will usually give you a three hour guest parking pass.
