Off site and ME?

Has anyone flown into MCO late and stayed in an offsite hotel for that night and then gotten up and used ME to get to your Disney resort? How is this handled when you make a reservation? What do you do with your luggage? Thanks for any information!

I don't see how you could do this. ME is supposed to be a way to get from MCO to the onsite resorts. They don't make any stops at offsite locations, etc.

Your best bet will be to just take your luggage with you to the offsite hotel, and use that hotel's shuttle or rent a car to get to your Disney resort the next day.

You can ask to see if ME will hold your luggage for you overnight and deliver the next day to your resort, or if your Disney resort would do this for you overnight. I know the resorts will keep your luggage during the day, but I've never tried to get them to hold it overnight.

But you will have to find some other way of getting to the Disney resort from the offsite hotel in the morning.

I assume you're planning to stay at a hotel near MCO and then take the airport shuttle back to MCO.

Guests have been allowed do that, if DME gives you a problem give them a flight that arrives the next morning.

You might ask at the hotel for a flat rate taxi to WDW. Sheraton Suites got me a car for $40 + tip to the Dolphin. That would be quicker than waiting for the hotel shuttle to MCO then waiting for the DME bus.

To repeat, have in mind a flight, any flight, any airline arriving at Orlando Airport at the time you will be back there with your baggage ready to begin your Disney day. You might not need to give this info when reserving ME but having this info handy will make things go smoother.

Anyone staying at a Disney resort is entitled to ME transportation to it on check in day.
