ok..so we are going to try something different this time. We are not going to Disney. We are so Disney'd out. We are going to try Universal , Sea World....etc...

We were in Orlando last week because we went on a Cruise. I saw some signs for Apartment rentals , extended stay places. I think the name was Home Suite Home??

We are looking for a hotel with maybe a small kitchenette or something in it for a week. We are not big breakfast eaters and feel a kitchenette or something will do us just fine making bagels and such in the morning.

Anyone have any suggestions as to some ideas for a 1 week stay. I have never looked into Vacation homes rentals or anything. We just usually head to Disney and stay on site!

We will have a rental car as well.

Thanks in Advance for your help.

We have stayed at Country Inn and Suites. A continental breakfast is included.

I've been pricing hotels for our trip, but hope to end up in a condo/home.

But, if you are going to be up in the Universal area, this may work:

Hawthorn Suites @ Universal Orlando has a 1BR suite with 2 Queen beds, a living area with a sofa bed, and a full kitchen. It also offer free breakfast each morning as well as a shuttle to the parks. All for less than $100/night. I think that sounds like a great deal.

I didn't do any real research on the hotel though, because we are now going to WDW and won't need to stay up in the Universal area. So you may want to check some reviews. :)

Good luck!

If this is the place that used to be the Holiday Inn Nicki Bird and if it is attached to Angels Diner, I have hear that is not a good/safe place to stay. We stayed there when it was the Nicki Bird, but when they made it into an extended stay place, I heard a lot of local transient people started staying here.
Check out www.vrbo.com and you will see that there are a ton of places to rent that would fit your needs. One of our fellow disers recently stayed here:

I don't know what your budget is but we usually stay at Sheraton Vistana Resort they have 1 and 2 br condos. They are very home away from homy. But it's just off the highway so it easily accessable for both Univeral and Sea World (Which we have done while staying here). It has a full kitchen which may be more than you need, but it's nice for a quick meal or a snack. They have a couple of lovely pools to relax in, and there are several resturants right across the street.

You might look it up, it's always served us well.

I just love Staybridge Suites! We get a trio, which means 2 bedrooms, a full kitchen, a living room and 2 bathrooms and a buffet breakfast. Yesterday, with the Travelzoo special, I was able to get 2 nights at 104$ per night for all this! :cool1:
Check it out : http://www.sborlando.com/travelzoo/

We are also doing a non-Disney trip in less than 3 weeks , staying onsite at Universal for 4 nights and 2 nights at the Staybridge suites in Orlando (there's one in LBV as well). The fact that I was able to get such a great deal on Staybridge kind of balances the fact that we have to pay so much for the Royal Pacific as we need 2 rooms for the 6 of us :rolleyes1

Happy trails!

We go to Orlando 4 or 5 times a year and always stay in a 2 or 3 bedroom suite. Check out Lake Eve Resort, Lake Buena Vista Resort and Spa, or Floridays Resort. All three are great and just a few miles from Sea World.
