We are spending a few days at WDW before our next cruise. I was thinking about eating breakfast off-grounds before we checked into AKV. We are normally a meal plan kind of family. So other than the local Cracker Barrel, I really have no clue where to go.

Can anyone recommend somewhere local that's not too far off WDW property?

Thanks in advance.

You could try First Watch (you'll have to look it up - it's on Sand Lake Road, neary-ish to Disney). You might also want to try Gaylord Palms or the JW Marriott Grande Lakes.

My DH was thrilled to find a McDonald's for breakfast right in/near WDW property. His words "I'd rather pay $20 for breakfast than $120".
We were leaving at the time and I think the expense was starting to get to him:rolleyes1

Boma (at AKL) also had a really nice breakfast buffet but that was about $21-22 per person -(hence my DH's statement).

There was a sign for the McDonald's in the loop for the resorts :confused3
The DH was driving so I was paying close attention.

I think this is the one by the All Stars resort.

Try the breakfast buffet at the Gaylord Palms great place to spend a few hours looking around.

I meant I WASN't paying close attention because the DH was driving

:thumbsup2That's the one. DH is home from work now and confirmed that is the one we went to.

The Gaylord Palms is beautiful:thumbsup2
We were there years ago to see that ice exhibit they had there.

Yes, it is. We ate there on our way out last time and it was a great change of pace. So much cheaper after spending a full without going off property with a family of 5.

Only family of 4, but we felt the same way:thumbsup2
Plus my DH was anxious to be on the road quickly as we were driving back to VA that morning.

Since this is more of a WDW planning question than cruise planning question I am moving this to the DVC Board.

Breakfast??? Does anyone actually wake up that early??
Take a swig of Gentleman Jack and call room service before 10:30.

We go to the Golden Corral out by AKV all the time. When coming out of the resort turn right at the light instead of going straight to parks. Follow road out to main highway and turn right. Golden Corral is about a mile down. Around $10 buffet for each adult.

We go to IHOP! I love the 2(eggs) by 2(sausage links) by 2(pancakes) breakast with butter pecan syrup!

First Watch! I think someone said that earlier.

Don't go for the boring normal stuff on the menu. The unusual breakfast burrito and the banana/nut pancakes were AWESOME.

We don't always see eye-to-eye, MG, but on this, you are 100% correct.

(Note: some of the a la carte places around WDW aren't all that expensive, breakfast-wise.)

Try the little cafe in down town Celebration. It was great last May! Sorry, can't remember the name, but it is the only cafe on the corner facing the lake downtown. Very good, very quiet and relaxing.
