What do you guys do on your off days? We will have a day that we will not have park tickets yet (day before free dining start), but will be on property. What are some fun things to do with the family besides DTD and water parks (not interested in those)? Also looking for a table service meal at a resort that would be good for the family with an 8, 5, & 15 month old. We already have Chef Mickey's planned for the night before. TIA!

We had breakfast at Cape May on one of our off days. We had a little later breakfast and it was really nice. We went to Camp Wilderness and looked around. They have a petting zoo. They also have a campfire and free movie at night. We like to visit different resorts. AKL and WL have guided tours. You can look at the animals at AKL. There are several places to view the animals. There are always several CMs around that can answer questions. AKL also has activities for during the day. Just ask a CM what's going on that day. I think the kids can help feed some of the birds in the mornings sometimes.

We want to go to the Boadwalk and look around. It looks interesting.

This visit on our non-park days we are going to play miniature golf--there are two different places to play http://allearsnet.com/btp/golf.htm and http://allearsnet.com/btp/golf2.htm. You could also ride the monorail around and check out the MK resorts-one of our favorite TS restaurants is 'Ohana. There is also 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian. Or you could head over to the Wilderness Lodge and eat at Whispering Canyon Cafe. You could also wander around the Boardwalk area http://allearsnet.com/btp/brdwlk.htm. If you choose to visit the Boardwalk, there are lots of places to eat including Beaches & Cream :teeth: The ESPN Club is also good.

I agree about Beaches and Cream...it's GREAT! Except it's NOT on the Boardwalk...it's in the Beach Club Resort!

I ALSO have to agree with 'Ohana being a great meal for dinner for your family. It's one of my FAVORITE meals at WDW!!!!!!!! (actually #2 after Le Cellier :thumbsup2 )

Thanks...exactly the type of stuff I was thinking off. DH did not want to drive on vacation, since he drives a tow truck for work, so this is great! Thanks for the ideas, I will talk them over with him.

We like AKL and FW for days when we want Disney magic without a parks pass. As a previous poster indicated there are tours at the resort hotels and fun outdoors activities at FW. As far as TS meal, we like Boma but the magic is in the details and maybe not as easily fun for smaller children. Whispering Canyon Cafe, on the other hand, has stick pony races for the kids. We also spend and afternoon and/or evening on the boardwalk. The kid's favorite there is Spoodles because of the make your own sundae dessert. I don't know what age requirements there may be on surrey bikes at the boardwalk but I have seen very small children in these little kid seat baskets up front on the bikes - you'd have to check. Enjoy finding the magic
