Of all the irresponsible things .....

Can I just say that kids sometimes don't tell you the whole truth of a situation and miss out vital information like 'Mrs Jones next door is going to be looking after you until I get back and the house is locked up for security'.

It's possible the child heard 'the house is locked up' bit only. It happens, my kids only hear what they want to hear sometimes :rotfl:

It's a terrible situation if it isn't innocent but fingers crossed that it is.

How sad for that poor little girl.

I would report it to social services, you can remain anon and it might put your mind at rest a little.

good luck:hug:

Aww what shame, when you hear something like that it doesn't half tug at your heart. I would report it as one day she might just knock on the wrong door.

I really feel for you !! There is a little boy aged 3 in our street that is out all hours unsupervised and he even goes missing on a regulaur basis when he gets bored he rides off his bike ! He has been found at our local Asda by police and the mom didnt even realise he was missing :scared1:

I have contacted the childs pre school who symapthised but said they could do nothing  I then contacted social services ! I mean seriously a 3yr old who is put outside as early as 8am and is still outside at 10pm with no supervision and next to a main road but SS said they do not deem him to be in danger.:confused:

However if he was ever ran over or abducted then he would be deemed to be neglected ?? surely its a bit late then ?

last week I bought him home from both Town centre and riding towards the main island for the town (read Big busy no chance of crossing ) when you knock on the door his mother takes ages to answer and on one occasion she actually said " Jesus kid cant I even have 20 mins sleep without you running off ???"

I dont think proffession even comes into it the mother of this child is a paramedic !!! Beggars belief !!!
I would be very interested to hear how the agencys deal with your complaint as I feel that the child in our street is an accident waiting to happen yet noone wants to listen x xx

The sad truth of it is that the neglected children of today are the next generation of angry, un-educated, anti-social, violent adults just waiting to happen :sad2:
We have endless potential to offer the children of this country, and it angers me greatly to see people squandering it by continually ignoring their main responsibilities as a parent (the ULTIMATE responsiblity!). I'm fed up of people deciding to bring kids into this world, and then doing everything possible to ignore and not bother nurturing them. If they haven't inherited the knowledge or decency to fulfill this role, then it is the states responsiblity to force them into parenting classes, or to remove the child from risk.
Please report this terrible mother.

Oh what an awful situation you have been put in:sad2:

If it were me, I would have to tell someone either the police like Katie says or social services or the school, but I couldnt live with myself it I didnt report it especially if something where to happen:sad1:

You and your daughter should not be put in this position:hug:
