I always look forward to the long threads about the funniest thing you saw at disney etc etc

So i thought i'd start one and have it be an ode to newbies.

So please share your best/worst story or overheard remark you have experienced coming from a person who may not have been as "fanatical" as the rest of us about being at disney.

My own

Overheard in World Showcase at Epcot... "why do they need an american pavillion...we're in America aren't we"

hmmm not too great, i'm sure others will have better ones.

Can't think of one at the moment, but did want to comment on your nice looking signature. :wave2:

My favorite from about 4 years ago...overheard on a bus..."But dear, Magic Kingdom IS WDW!! That's it. Everything else falls under Magic Kingdom since they are such small parks." Uh-huh, sure.

A boy looked up at the monorail track at Epcot and asked his parents..."Is that Test Track?". :D

I was talking to a woman recently and she was telling me about her experience at MNSSHP. She informed me that the closed down all of Disney World for it. On the same idea, on our last trip we ran into a family that we know from DS's school. While the kids played in the boneyard playground(in AK) we were discussing what we had done so far and what our plans were etc... The mother told me that the previous night they went to Disney World for the fireworks. ;)

Not a cute story just frustration with people that do not share our joy of WDW. DH and I have no children and will be going on our third trip in 2 1/2 years of marriage in January. The people who turn up their nose and ask WHY?? we are going there since we have no kids are annoying to me. Too bad they are missing out. You do not need to be parents to enjoy Disney.::yes::

Oh this is a great thread since I've been dying to tell someone who would understand.

We will be in WDW on Sat 11/15 :Pinkbounc :bounce: and my DSIL and DBIL who live in Clearwater FL have decided to join us for the 2nd weekend we will be there. DSIL calls me to let me know that they are staying at a great on-site hotel that's within walking distance to all of the parks, it's the Wyndham:laughing: !!! I love her to pieces, but I'm not even going to try explaining  !! She'll figure it out when she gets there :p !

I'm with SnowWite33 on this one.

I have friends who don't understand my "paying all that money to stay onsite". Theya arrived at their vacation home (2 bdrms, 2 baths), just 5 minutes from WDW today. Can't wait until they get back. Didn't understand how that was impossible.!

I have a friend that went to WDW to attend a conference. It was at the YC, so he stayed there. ( he payed the conference price for the room!!! way too much $). Anyway, when he got home I asked him how it went, and he told me that they had walked to Disney World 3 nites in a row, and could never find the castle that he had seen on the t.v commercials!!! He said they only saw a big silver ball, and why was that there anyway, they should have put a ride or show there instead!!!! apparently, he thought Epcot was ALL of WDW!!!:earseek:

A couple of years ago, we managed to convince one of my friends that Spaceship Earth was a rollercoaster. Well, he thought that he would be sneaky and get an extra ride while waiting for everyone to meet up to ride.

Needless to say, he was a little disappointed when he realized that it was not a thrill ride

not just a single remark but I have heard this in probably every "real World" conversation bout wdw..someone insists on calling MK..." WDW" like the two are the same...you explain it, they say it again. you explain it, they say it again..this happened recently where I went through that 3 times ( they were saying they went to "wdw".... really Mk.... and it wasn't that great basically, did it in a day, me explaining they saw maybe 1/20 th of wdw and them repeating no we went to wdw( meaning mk) augggg!) I guess I just can not understand how you can drive into WDW & see all the signs, roads, buildings and not have any concept that the park you walked around that day did not contain what you just drove past????? or wonder what it was or never heard of Epcot ( it's only been open what 20+ yrs???)

My mother and my mother in law were in a very long line to go on Jungle Cruise. All the while my mother in law complained to my mother about how long the line up was. After some time, someone behind them (I guess he was tired of listening to her complain) said to her "oh, this isn't the line for jungle cruise. This is the line up for the washroom. And she believed him!
