I am taking my two nieces to WDW (ages 14 and 21). Right now I have a preferred view accessible room at the All-Stars Music booked for Aug 19-24 with the free dining offer that ended last Dec. Due to flight times I want to add a day the the front (8/18) for a room only. There is a discount for the room but the availability is only for accesible standard view. That pretty much guarantees I will have to switch rooms. Actually have two rooms booked for each segment, one accessible and one not since my sister and husband will be traveling with me.
My travel agent is suggesting I either pay rack rate for the rooms for one night of preferred view or drop the other rooms down to standard view to substantially increase the odds I won't have to switch room.
I want to avoid the room switching if at all possible. So which will would be the best way to go? It will cost $77 more to do rack rate or save $204 to drop. However, we went in August of last year and the rest of the family greatly appreciated being closer with the preferred view. For me, with wheels, it makes no difference.
I do understand the the room is going to be a king with a roll away but am okay with that. I also understand that I will have to check in and out for the second segment but I just do not want to have to drag the stuff out to bell service, leave it and then come back and get it back to the new rooms.
