Odds of getting OKW studio at 7 months in Nov. or Dec.?

I own at SSR but wouldn't mind trying out OKW. So what are the odds of us getting a studio room at OKW at the 7 month windows in November (anytime before Thanksgiving week) or in December (anytime before Christmas week)???

Nothing is definite but we have had luck at calling right at the 7 month window as soon as MS opens.

the only thing we have ever had an issue getting at okw was a grand villa

i think a lot will depend upon the refurb scheduel at okw at the time and how many units are out for refurb

I own at BWVs and just booked today (at my 11 month window) for early November next year - I'll call back at 7 months and see if I can get BCVs or at least get wait listed. Since I have my home resort booked I can make my plans as far as travel, etc and the only issue is where I'll end up staying - if you want OKW if you can get it but really want to know when you are going, book your stay at SSR now, if you really want OKW and your dates are fleixible I'd chance it at 7 months.

I would say the beginning few weeks of November are not as popular as the beginning few weeks of December. Especially because the Christmas decorations aren't up in November and there are no Christmas activities until the day after Thanksgiving.

Don't underestimate the popularity of Jersey Week - that falls within the first week or so of November. OKW won't fill as quickly as the EPCOT resorts, but it's no sure thing, either.

I would say your chances are very good, especially if you call at 7 months

We would say your chances are excellent. Seems OKW & SRR are the resorts of last choice, seems because of location, there both fantastic. The Epoct resorts seem most in demand, we sometimes rent points and that's from experence.

I'd be surprised if you couldn't get a studio or 1BR, I could see 2BR being much more difficult. As was said just before OKW and SSR are usually the last to fill. If you look at the vacation deals that involve DVC properties OKW and SSR are always there and available.

It is true that OKW and SSR used to be the last resorts to run out of rooms. But not true any more. Basically, the larger resorts are the last to run out of rooms. SSR usually is the last (so far). BCV is usually the first resort to run out. BWV, BLT, VWL, and Tree House at SSR run out just about as fast, just somewhat easier than BCV. AKV Jambo House would be next (but concierge at Jambo runs out fast). AKV Kidani Village and OKW are about as hard (or easy) these days.

Anyway, at the 7-month window for early November and early December, I don't see a problem. Not at OKW, and not at most resorts. And in case you don't get it on the day you call, just waitlist it. It should come through in a matter of weeks.

For 2011, the schools in Jersey will be off on November 11 and 12.

I have been able to get OKW studios and 2BR units for Thanksgiving week the last several years, and was even able to get HH area.

While this year is bucking the trend, we usually visit WDW during Jersey Week each year. OKW is our resort of choice, although we don't own there. We've have never had a problem getting a room there (including a studio) at the 7 month (and even less) month mark.

YMMV, but based on personal experience, I don't think you'll have a problem.
