Odds of a Star Wars Land?

Why does a new land have to be gigantic. Clear some land opposite the Star Wars building on the other side of the main driveway to the parking lot.
To access that land, you would have to ride the new Star Wars ride. Upon exiting you have a choice, back to Earth or Endor. Exit the building, over a covered bridge, and into the land of Endor, complete with resturant and anything else the Imagineers can think of.

The Marvel Comics Land would be great...only one problem: Universal still owns the rights to the names. Disney can't use them!! The funniest thing though..everytime someone buys a ticket and goes to IoA..Disney makes money!!

As for a Star Wars Land, that would be great too. The Star Wars franchise has been going strong since '77. All the movies are going to be released starting next year in 3D. This is going to bring in a whole new crop of Star Wars fans. Even my 4 1/2 yr old niece is obsessed with Star Wars. It could work.

There are limits to what Universal "owns" - but it does include most of the big names in the Marvel universe.

As for Star Wars, it seems to have found new life among children with the Clone Wars series on Cartoon Network. Both of my kids look forward to watching it. Ashley Eckstein is a regular at SWW. It does seems like adding more Star Wars themed stuff to DHS makes sense - but what could they add?

those movies will look just as terrible in 3D as they did in 2...because they were horribly written and directed.

at least the "prequels"

What prequels? There were prequels? ;)

Thats how I feel about Indiana Jones.

Me (m): "have you seen all the Indiana Jones(ij) movies?"

Random Person I happen to be talking to (rp): "Yup, all four."

m: "You mean three. There are three ij movies."

rp: "No, there's four...."

m: "THERE IS THREE END OF DISCUSSION":headache::headache::headache:

What are you talking about? There were two -- they didn't make any more after "Temple of Doom," did they?

;)

KARIMA KARIMA KARIMA..........

also on topic. Does Disney even own the star wars rights?

If they don't the chances probably drop to 1% at most.

Why not a Paradise Pier-like area sorta like DCA? You could have all sorts of thrill rides in that sort of area....

However, Disney has mentioned that The Princess and the Frog would be their last 'princess' movie so they could make more films that would attract .

False. It is not the LAST princess movie, it's the LAST one for right now.

The problem with that is that the Paradise Pier area, at least IMO, is that it contributed to the mediocrity that is DCA. A concentration of thrill-rides, much in the style of a Six Flags park, is just not the Disney way.

I don't think that a Star Wars land would be feasible unless George Lucas decided to make another trilogy. Such an area would not sustain itself as the franchise would slowly slip away from the public's eye. As a Star Wars fan, I am eagerly looking forward to the new Star Tours experience coming out soon.

That being said, I would be thrilled if an Indiana Jones adventure came to some park in WDW. Ideally, I would put the ride in as a replacement for the stunt show at DHS, although I do love the show, or in the Animal Kingdom, though it would be a stretch with the overall theme of the park.

To be honest, I'm glad that they don't have anything specific to the 13-20 year old male crowd. That's the point in life when boys tend to become hooligans for lack of a better word.

The last thing Disney needs is a whole land/area dedicated to that demographic where they're all congregated, defacing property, harassing characters and other such things.

I'm sure your boys are angels and wouldn't do anything like that, but the rest of them will!

That being said, I would love to see more thrill ride / coaster type attractions, but just careful to scatter them around the parks than having them all in one area

Funny you should mention this. I'm sure everyone has heard that the former Cypress Gardens, after going through many owners as well as major changes, will be the new home of Lego Land. Now, my point: We used to go to the old Cypress Gardens on a regular basis. That is, until they totally re-did the place {poorly, I might add} and put in all of these thrill rides which attracted the same group you speak of. After that, the place went into the toilet. Roaming hordes of teens and young adults simply scared off all of the guests that came with their families to spend money. A shame, really, as Cypress Gardens was a really entertaining venue.

Oh, come on. I don't wish to get nasty, but if all boys this age are hooligans, all girls this age are approaching hooker-dom.
