Odd Trick or Treat Goodies

We went out with my husbands goddaughter and she ended up getting a pack of hot chocolate mix.

My kids got some mints from Arby's in their bags.

We overheard one mother last night exclaim, "They gave us a picture of their DOG?!?!?" LOL Apparently, someone had fixed a baggie and put a halloween pic of they pup in it. We must have missed that house, because we didn't get one. I was curious to see it though. We didn't get anything unusual this year. We have gotten toothbrushes in the past. My kids hate getting pretzels, lol.

Oh yeah! We got the Mary Kay certificate too once. I thought it was kinda tacky....but can't blame em for tryin, I guess.

My DD & friends went to a neighbors house one year where the teenage son was the only one home, and he was clearly not briefed on turning off the light. Since he's related to one of the girls, he good-naturedly ran to the pantry and found something for each of them. My DD got a package of Taco Mix!!! (too bad she doesn't like tacos!)

My kids got CapriSuns last night at one house. Also, they got a full size candy bar at one house with a very long driveway.

I gave out treat bags with fullsize candy bars, McD's coupons, and dumdums. Next year, I may just give out fullsize candy bars.

My son's children's gym had coupons that they were encouraging people to give out at Halloween for two free classes. They wanted people to put their name on the back and hand them out with treats during T or T. If anyone that got the coupon registered for classes (paid), then you would get $5 off your child's class. I thought it was an interesting idea, but a bit tacky.

Not so much odd....

My daughter got a huge Fear Factor "slimy gummy octopus in sour ooze". Now the bad part was when I turned it over and read how much sugar was in the package....151 grams!!! I nearly fainted. That is for ONE serving. There was also 162 carbs. I told my daughter she was crazy if she thought she was going to eat that thing. I enjoy showing it off to everyone too much anyway. It's fun to squish. :teeth:

Well we thought the little bag of Southwest Airlines peanuts that my DD got was the weirdest until I read the post about the soy sauce. We've decided the soy sauce is definately first place in the weirdness category.

Yikes!
Soy Sauce? Okay, that's gotta be one of the weirdest Halloween Treats ever!

Jean

Yep, that's pretty weird. My kids got a couple of packets of ketchup last year. :confused3

Of course what's even more weird .... my kids would have been THRILLED with the soy sauce 'cause they drown their white rice in it !!!

If you run out of candy/treats (I love the pencil idea ... my Mom has done that for years) or choose not to participate, why bother giving out such dumb things like soy sauce/ketchup. Instead try closing your door and shutting off your lights
