After a long saga with our fridge/freezer, we are getting a new one delivered today (fingers crossed).

Do we have to wait 24hours before we can switch it on and use it, or are new ones ready to use?

When we got our new one I just plugged it in and started using it.

Yeah you put it into place and leave it 8-10 hours it allows the gas to settle etc.
I only know this as DP used to work in Dixons/Currys (yonks ago).:rotfl2:

i've always been told to leave it staning for 2-3 hours to let the gases settle after transit before plugging in.
I'm sure that when your new one is delivered they will tell you this .

Hell no. plug it in and let it earn its keep.

Although DH who used to deliver fridges for NAFFI does not subsrcibe to my opinion;)

I thought this was something you used to have to do, but that the new ones could be switched on straight away - I wouldn't like to test it though!

BTW, irongirlof12, I like Quorn sausages too :)

If I remember rightly do you have to clean the fridge with baking soda?
