Ok, so have you heard about the lady who took off to WDW w/one of her children after clearing out her bank account and stealing a coworker's drivers liscense? She then called and said her and her daughter had been kidnapped and thrown in a trunk. What the ????????? Even had the gull to call her husband and freak him out. They of course caught her at WDW returning to her hotel room at the GF. (good choice of hotels though, lol) And we thought we were disney obsessed:confused3

My only question is if you are going to flip out and take off to disney...why only take one of your 4 children????:confused3 Yeah, she had 3 other children she left behind at home.

Anyway, I just had to comment about it on here when I heard it.

I think she only has 2 other children. Probably didn't take the 15 year old because she would know what was going on and talk. And it is pretty hard to "run" with a baby. The 9 year old was the easiest to take.

I am sure there are a lot of issues in this case, but I am guessing post partem played a big part.

There is a lot of talk that she is suffering from sever Post Partum depression. I believe she had a baby not too long ago..Not excusing her behavior, but she obviously needs help.

Yes, OBVIOUSLY she has issues and needs a great deal of help

I just found it odd that if it is supposedly post partum depression that she would take one of her kids and head to disney world. :confused3 Sounds more like she just flipped her lid but who knows, I'm sure they will find out soon. I just feel bad for her husband and her children

So odd! I feel bad for her if it was due to PPD (which I also suffered from after my first child), but I feel even worse for that poor little girl who now will be scared for life when it comes to Disney World! Can you imagine the horrible memories she has now of a place that is suppost to be a magical place to be?! So sad...what a horrible story.

If it's postpartum related, she wouldn't want anything to do with the baby:scared1::scared1:(might not even aknowledge it exists) & the 15yo could be a mouthy teen more into her friends than the magic:rolleyes:, whereas the 9yo is still cute, cuddlely & the right age for magic(in her mind anyway:rolleyes1)!!! It is really :sad2::sad2::sad2: & disgusting she had to blame it on 2 black men, as it makes white women like me look stupid!:furious: Hopefully the 9yo will get counseling to resolve the issues she & the rest of the family will have.:grouphug:

She HAS to be crazy!! It was such a bad plan.... I mean, I am all for going to WDW but I could have come up with a better plan to get there!! I am going to steal my own kid and go to WDW!?? :confused3

:surfweb: I was just looking on here to make a new post about this very thing!! She had been planning it for some time - "borrowed" and ID from a co-worker, bought plane tickets, transferred $12,000 from savings, made ressies at GF.... Maybe PPD is just an excuse!?!?

I had postpartum depression with my oldest son - its not fun!! She needs counselling to say the least. She has a lot more problems ahead of her after all of this. Lets all be thankful that she took her kid to Disney, who is alive and well, and not other horrible things that have happend in the past with others Moms and PPD!

Honestly, I feel the worst for the girls dad. His interview was heart breaking!! He was so lost and only wanted his daughter returned safe and sound. He is a victim in this as well!

I am glad it turned out as well as it did!! :wizard:

disgusting she had to blame it on 2 black men... :furious:

YES! That was my automatic reaction, too! As though black men in our society don't have a hard enough time without false accusations. Remember Susan Smith drowning her kids and blaming a black man, too? Ugh.

I'll bet Disney's happy she chose them. I can only imagine the slogans that can come out of that.

But, seriously, there are a lot of things going on there that the media probably never will report.

This whole thing started about 10-15 minutes from us, and the girls at work and I were discussing how scary this was - BEFORE they found them in Disney. To think that you could get into a car accident, and then someone kidnap you not far from where you were, and then to find out it was a Hoax!

It was almost a relief that it was, even if the lady seems to have lost.

 So not well thought out ....

They found the SUV/car with no rear end damage not far away from where is supposedly hapend. It had a parking ticket from an hour beofre the alleged attack took place.

So what did she plan to do after her week long vaca at the GF?? :confused3

She should have atleast backed into something to make it more believable?! The racial aspect is a whole other part of the bad plan... Not sure she realized what a big can of worls she was oepning with all of this!! She is an idiot. Hopefully they can get herthe obvious help she needs!!

When I heard this I told DH that if I ran away to Disney I'd leave all the kids behind!! :cool1:

Ha!!! No kidding!! I really do feel awful for that husband!! Can you imagine your husband taking off with your kids and acting like something awful was happening? I am surprised the poor guy didn't have a heart attack. Geez

PPD--she went to the happiest place on Earth :) Man, whish I would have thought of going to WDW when I went throught it we DD...but I would have taken DH and the kids with.

I also live near by and felt guilty when I told my husband the first evening that I thought it might be a fake...god forbid it wasn't. The intersection where it happened is too busy a place for no one to see anything. There is also news that she may have embezzeled $300,000 from her boss and their charity....this story isn't going away for a long time as it keeps getting bigger and bigger! I feel for her family and hope she gets the help she apparently needs.

I have heard about the embezzling as well and perhaps she was going on a little vacation before she was going to get locked up.

I know we all go to WDW or DL to escape reality but come on.....

We need to pray for her husband and children and her as well. This can't be easy for them.

I think Disney should give the kids a free trip!

Huh? You feel worse that someone's opinion of WDW may be changed than for all the lives affected/effected by this episode? Am I reading this correctly?

Well, we all know that people have been willing to do almost ANYTHING to take advantage of the 4/3 deal this spring!

While PPD is certainly one possibility, I don't think we can rule out my idea here.
