odd question

When I went to WDW a couple years ago, at night people had these gadgets that would spin and "write" words in the air. Does anyone know anything about these at all, specifically what they are, how much they cost, and can you still get them?

I do know what you're talking about...we've seen them as well! Unfortunately though, I have no idea if they are still availble...sorry

They still had them as of three weeks ago. I specifically remember seeing them being sold from a cart outside the Fantasmic theater. I don't know how much they are though.

Thank you, B'rer Karen! I'm going in about 5 weeks, so hopefully they'll still have them. My sister and I have always regretted not getting them then, so price may not even be an issue.

They sell them at most of the carts that sell light up gadgets. Usually during the electrical parade, before illuminations or before fantasmic.

Don't have a price though, sorry.

The Skyliner retails for $20. It has a rotation of pre-set words and phrases, and you can also program your own words. Very neat, but not very practical yet... can occupy children in cars for hours, I'd imagine...

My DH got me one of the "Virtual Message Writers" on Ebay for about $5. I am not sure what they cost in the parks. Some of them have general messages (Go for it, Congratulations, way to go, let's party, etc..) mine has Disney sayings (Hakuna Matata, see ya real soon, be our guest, have a Disney day!, Believe the magic, fairest one of all, peace-love-mickey, I'm a mouseketeer, yo ho, yo ho, etc..) Mine has 22 mesages. It is pretty cool and takes 2 AAA batteries that are included.

OR you can get yours at many spots at Disney, including the main store in Downtown Disney. (Disney sells them cheap, by the way!) LOL LOL

I believe you might also be able to call or email an order through the Disney stores. Good luck.

Thanks for the website "Geek". That confirmed that it was just what I was looking for. I just bought a couple disney ones on e-bay (for less than $5 apiece). Why wait until we're there...this way it will get us in the "Disney spirit".
