We live in CT and with the snow etc.. wondeirng how we should store our trampoline for the winter????

SH thought maybe about tarping it but if the snow piles too high on top of it..
We could take it apart but it is a ton of work...Any thoughts...........

:Pinkbounc I would suggest you take it apart. We left ours up year round and it didn't last very long. I think the changes in the weather had a lot to do with it...extreme heat in the summer....freezing cold in the winter. My brother's trampoline got a huge hole in it from a branch that fell on it during a winter storm.

tarping it sounds good need a rather large tarp./.

Had to chime in! I take the springs off individually and store them and the fabric in the shed. Our first year we just put a tarp over it-yes, a large one-anyway the wind kept blowing it off continuously and then the snow got so heavy, it ruined quite a few springs. My husband and I were out there shovelling off about a zillion pounds of wet snow! Not pretty and not easy! The frame will do just fine in the snow as we live in the snow belt!

We leave ours out year round. It was rated weather safe, with the exception of the net. We've had it for 3 years now and it's still in great shape. We also live in snow country -- PA.

I am with Shirleyb - we have had ours 4 years and have left up every winter - we are in MI. Our netting is getting shabby but I think that is from the kids slamming against it, and the sun etc. We have had no problems with ours at all. We did have it slam into the woods and get totally trashed one fall stormy night - we had to order replacement parts for it in the spring and since then have learned that we need to take down the nets everytime the wind kicks up.

We take the whole thing apart. But I could see if you didnt have all the room to store it, just taking off the mat and leaving the frame up for the winter.

We live in Minnesota...I thought that we should just leave it up year round but my husband would not allow that...he said what other people are saying that it will last much longer and I don't know about you but if I don't have to spend another $500 on one I will be happy. Don't get my wrong it is a pain in the butt to take it apart and put it back up each year, but it is worth it really...

I also live in CT and we have had our trampoline since my soon to be 30 year old son was 16.
I take it apart every year around November and set it up again in mid April. I do it myself, and it is very easy. The one thing you have to make sure to do is take the springs off in a 12, 6, 3, 9 (o'clock) pattern so you have equal tension on the mesh.
I have two small holes in the mesh from jeans buttons getting caught. Otherwise it is in excellent condition.
We still have the box and we put all the parts into the box in the garage for the winter.
I just checked out insurances to see if I was paying the cheapest and after asking if I had a dog that ever bit someone the next question was do I have a trampoline. The insurance agent said that some insurance companies won't insure if you own one.
So if you have alot of neighborhood kids coming over make sure you check with your insurance to see if they are covered in case of an accident. My boys have all had their share of them in the 14 years we owned it. Peggie

I do not have anywhere to store it so I untie the enclosure & need to shovel off the show in the winter.

You know I figured that it would be an issue with insurance...so I called State Farm after we got it (and my brother was being stupid on it and sprained his ankle) and I asked them about needing additional insurance and they said that it wouldn't cost anything extra...they did ask me questions about who was going to be using it, if it had the enclosure (which I cannot imagine NOT having), if our yard was fenced, but it didn't cost anything extra which was a pleasant surprise!

We keep ours up year round(in MD). We've had it for three years without problem. My husband grew up with a tramp, and I don't think they ever took it down (in PA)

We leave ours up year round. When the snow starts whipping (I'm in Canada, it whips alot :teeth: ), we turn it on it's side. We than use bungie cords across it to attach it to the fence. This way it won't fall over.

we miss our trampoline- it was demolished last year with the hurricane! I wish dh would of taken it down... now I'm too scared to buy another $400 one..

We've had one for years. We live in Chicago and leave our 15 ft. trampoline w/net enclosure up all year. The kids jump in it all year round:Pinkbounc , and like to jump with the snow in it :yay: . They even like to jump in it at midnight on New Year's Eve :Pinkbounc :bounce: ...Speaking of insurance, we were told that as long as we had a net enclosure we were covered by insurance and didn't have to pay extra.

thanks,

are you still on our halloween cruise>????

We take ours down and store it in the original boxes. The neighbors leave theirs up and now it looks horrible. Plus when you jump on it black stuff gets all over your clothes and it doesn't come off easily. I've told DD to stay off of it, because she comes home a mess.
