So we are heading out on Tuesday (yeah! :cool1:). I have been trying to figure out different and fun ways to put my hair up for the trip but so far have been unsuccessful. But maybe you gals (or guys :lmao: ) could help out!

I have a bit longer than shoulder length hair and bangs that are about to the end of my nose now (they are getting trimmed once we get back!). While in Disney I usually wear my Mickey pink visor, but if my hair is cute enough - I might even leave it at the hotel :scared1: Mr. Potato head even talked to me last time about how I lost the top of my hat :lmao: ....ahhhh, that was a great day, Mr Potato head talked to me and I got picked for the behind the scenes tour to get SOAKED... :thumbsup2

I twist mine and pull in up in a comb clip -- quick, easy, and simple. I gave up trying to look "cute" at Disney years ago and now just go for comfort and easy.

This thread would be a better fit on the theme parks communty board, so I'm going to move it there now.

Hi. There's a thread on the Disney World Tips board called Tips for Women or something like that and there were a lot of posts about how to wear you hair in the heat and humidity. You should check it out.

I'm a baseball cap and pony tail girl so I can't help you out with the up dos.

I don't need to look like super cute - that is way too hard at Disney! I just didn't like when I got back from my honeymoon and I hated to look at all my pictures because I looked like an idiot! I am just one of those people that doesn't look good with my hair back! I have to have something going on in front, dunno why! Anyways, the past few times I have done something cute and fun with my hair (but it was longer) and now I don't hate looking at my pictures because of how my hair looked! (now the rest of me is a different story.....:lmao:)

Thanks - had no idea where to put it!

I will look for it. The visor helped me so much not look like such an idiot but I sweat so bad so can't do a full baseball hat! lol...

I'd suggest a hair pencil, then pull out the shorter hair around your face (if you want to "look cute").

How?

Get a pencil (or a chopstick, or a hair stick, or a pen, or anything that is long, straight, and will hold).

Start a bun at the back of your head - in other words, get all your hair in your hands like a ponytail, then start twisting (I head right). The twisting will move the hair into a bun shape.

Once you get an almost-full bun shape, this is the tricky part. Take the bottom of the bun and fold it up over the bun, so that the part that WAS on the bottom is folded over the middle area to the top. The hair in the middle (that was pretty much where the ponytail started) should now feel pretty darn tight.

Take the pencil, and put it through what was the bottom of the bun (now at the top of the 'do). You can add another for stability (I often do). You can add bobby pins or any kinds of clips, or you can just leave it with the sticks.

I love doing this, and it's easy easy to take down and put back up. Also, it tends to look very nice, especially when you pull just a bit of your hair down in the front. With some practice, you can make it look very good - I usually leave down hair before putting it up, and then tuck it behind my ears or secure it in a small clip to make it look polished.

Chopsticks work! I've been doing them for so long that I can't remember how to explain it. But you can find any kind of tutorial on YouTube these days.

Dunno if you're willing to spend money at Disney on hair accessories but what I like to do is go to Japan in Epcot, in the kimono section. They have cute hair clips and the kimono lady will twist your hair up into a bun with just a single stick with some accessory hanging down. They have different kinds of hair accessories. Last time I tried to have the kimono lady teach me but my hair was too long and too thick and the accessory they would have to use would be too much $$$. Your hair sounds better suited. I ended up just buying a little pin instead.

This is my favorite way to do my hair and people are so amazed when I do it because I use to be able to do anywhere, anytime with a pencil, stick...whatever. Since I got my hair cut, I can't seem to get it tight enough to do this though. Growing it out now though so maybe I should try it again!

Do you know how much it is? I would love to do this!

If it seems like it won't stay since it's too short, flip your hair over and spray hairspray into your hair from the bottom. Or, even teasing it might help. I had very very long hair and recently cut it to around my shoulders, so I've had to work around those issues as well!
