Odd Question RE: HHI charging privileges

I believe I read somewhere that you can charge purchases and such to your room at HHI. Is this true? If so, I have some questions for those who have done it:

#1: What types of things can/do you charge to your room? Tours? Activities? Food/souvenir purchases? Equipment rental? Are any of these available to be charged to the room?

#2: Are the room charges lumped together and billed as a single charge at the end of your stay? Or are they all sent to your credit card individually?

The reason I ask is this: I have an AMEX Blue Sky card with $600 worth of rewards available. Anything that gets billed to the card that is categorized as "travel" (in this case, the front desk at HHI Resort) can be reimbursed in $100 increments. So, if we rack up $500 in resort charges throughout our stay, I can get a statement credit to cover them. My problem would be if each purchase is charged separately. I can't redeem $50 here and $70 there....well, I *can*, but it is a minimum of $100 per redemption. I am hoping that I can put our dolphin tour, kayak trip, Kids Nite Out and bicycle rental on the room as well as any food we eat from the snack bar. Then, assuming it is all lumped together and billed to my AMEX as one charge, I can get reimbursed for it using the rewards.

Anyone?

You get a final bill at the end of your stay with all of your charges on it. We haven't done the Dolphin and Kayak tours in awhile so I don't know if you can use your resort charge for that. Kids Night out and all other resort food/retail outlets take resort charge. The AmEx bill will just show one line item on your statement for the entire amount.

#1: All of those things may be charged to your KTTW card at HH. Purchases at the Mercantile store, snack bar (at both the Beach House and main resort), all recreational activities, all tours offered thru the resort, bike rentals, souvenir purchases may all be charged to your room id.

#2: The charges are itemized on the bill and then charged in a lump sum at checkout. Usually there will be $1500 limit placed on the KTTW card - so if you reach that limit, that charge is sent thru even if before checkout, but a new $1500 limit will be applied. The charges will not be itemized to your credit card company - all of the HH charges made at the resort will appear as a single charge. WDW is the same way - there will be one charge but the individual charges will be itemized on your room statement.

Enjoy! :)

Oh, this is exactly what I wanted to hear!!

I have $600 in AMEX rewards and another $200 in Disney Visa rewards so we will easily have all of our activities covered:woohoo:.

As far as the activity, when we were there, at least, they seem to actually prefer you to charge the activity to your room. It was kind of funny because we don't usually like to charge to our room, so we wanted to pay directly for the activity by cash or credit cad (I don't remember which). But they really weren't sure how to do it, and seemed so disappointed- "Oh, wouldn't you rather just charge it to your room?"-that we did charge it to our room. Sure enough, on check out day, we got a hang tag just for that one charge.
