Odd Magicband question

NJDFAMILY....Sorry for all the questions. Last time we were there (Sept. 2013) they still had the FP machines so it was easier. I do have a reservation at Wilderness Lodge in our names but it's a gift from a DVC member. Are you saying that since we have this reservation that we will get MagicBands? Also, as I mentioned I don't have actual tickets for the parks as of now. A friend is giving us a freebie. So if I understand correctly I cannot book FP'S unless I have tickets bought?

Yes you will get magic bands. If you have your reservation # you can link that to your MDE (my Disney experience ) account and personalize(pick your colors) your bands. If you don't personalize them you will get grey bands at check in.
