Odd Cast Member

I know that since 99% of cast member interaction is more than positive, the rare bad occasion really stands out. So here goes...

I just returned from MK and was standing near a character greeting spot. The line had been ended by the wrangler and she was very politely telling guests that the line was closed. As dozens of guests continued to walk up, I quietly said "WDW should give you a sign to alert people to make this easier" She paused, and said "NO, this is THE favorite part of my job.

I won't say what location this was, I wouldn't want to single her out as she did treat guests politely. But I was stunned (and a bit saddened) that she would admit that to me publicly.

Was she being sarcastic? I know how hard I find it at my job to have to disappoint customers if we do not have what they need. I cannot imagine how hard it must be to turn person after person away.
On my last trip I sat one evening and watched the CMs at Sci Fi at Mgm turn people who had'nt made ADRS away.. some were mad, others not. I gave them alot of credit for dealing so politely with everyone.
That has got to be hard!

In this girls defense, I have seen many many times that parents just will not take no, no matter how polite the wrangler is. On the other hand she just might not be a very happy person. Maybe the heat gets to her.
