Updated.

No color changes today, but we have some folks who are so close, that I think our page one will look pretty different after an active weekend!

2TxAgs - thanks for the PSA, sunscreen is so important and I've noticed that a lot of us get our exercise outside walking, running, biking, hiking, etc. Do you have an appointment scheduled for having the spot on your ear removed? Sending positive vibes your way - :goodvibes

660/900

30 minutes of cardio yesterday. Today is my "day off" from exercise, and tomorrow I plan to work out for a little longer than I have been this week. I'm hoping to do one hour tomorrow but we shall see. The boys go for their flu shots tomorrow morning, I have some chores to do around the house, and getting together with a friend tomorrow afternoon. I will work out first thing in the morning though, to make sure I get in my exercise. I like longer workouts on the weekend, when I have some more time to do them. I will be sure to do a nice long workout on Sunday too, as I don't have any plans. :)

I'm running a half at the end of November and need to be adding a mile each weekend to my long runs. Should have done 6 today, came in just a bit under.

Mrs AR - good luck on your race this weekend - hope it's somewhere beautiful and cool.

good luck to everyone who is running in events this weekend!

hmack....you're doing such a wonderful job as host this month! I think you make each person feel appreciated! :goodvibes :goodvibes Yes, I'm getting the spot removed on Wed. Thanks for your thoughts :)

I'm not doing so well. Will edit my time here in a minute.

Okay I'm at 60/900. See so far behind. Not hopeless. I know Halloween night will rack up a lot. LOL But will need to bump up the walking time or quantity maybe do two walks on some days. I also do exercise bike occasionally so have that option if I don't get the dd out or go walk alone. Sometimes wish I had a dog I could go walk. Othertimes grateful not to have the cost. Cats and dd's rats cost enough.

zoesmama03 - we believe in you! and don't forget that every minute helps you get a little be stronger, inch by inch. Also every minute you report is great for the team's total. So don't give up!!!

2TxAgs - thank you for your kindness, your words touched my heart.

37 minutes of strength training.

600/1200! (yipee!!)

Tomorrow I'm getting up at 4:30 a.m. to volunteer at a 50-mile race, I've got a 6-hour shift at an aid-station. I've never voluteered at a race like this. I expect to be fully inspired by all of the athletes.

Definitely not giving up. :goodvibes

Sounds like one heck of a race. Have fun volunteering for it and meeting inspiring athletes.

Two days to add: yesterday (25 minutes) and today (70 minutes). Should bring me to 421/900. I'm going to make it to purple this weekend!

SarahDisney - So good to hear I'm not alone! I do a long-ish walk once a week and I use a Grande Nonfat Latte as my motivation (and 1/2 way point!).

2TxAgs. It is beautiful and looks to be cool. I'm in San Francisco. Running the Nike women's 1/2 w/daughter. It will be tough but beautiful

UPDATED

so - I got up at 4:20 a.m, drove the 1.5 hours to volunteer at the race and was told, "um..you know that the race is tomorrow, right?" bummer.

In more sunshiney news - I joined purple power and I suspect that slightlyocd is going to joining soon.

As a family, we're at 40.44%, what are the chances that we can go up 10% by Monday morning's update??? I say we go for it!

Heather--so sorry about the day mix up. You will have fun and be inspired by the racers tomorrow! :thumbsup2 There's a fella in my class at the Y and his son does the 100 mile runs every other month or so. I can't imagine.

I have been having technological difficulties and it is really ticking me off! First the computer decided to get temperamental when on line. Can you say "fade to black?" One minute I'd be on my way to a new site and next I'd have a black screen! :furious: Think that problem resolved itself after a couple days. Then DH upgraded my ipad (which is where I keep my exercise spreadsheet). Now some stuff does a disappearing act. When I go to save my minutes the program just ends. grrrrr Oh well. I'm still moving, and keeping track on paper.

Today we are going to our college homecoming. I'm not excited, but DH is. We're dragging DS along (he is also excited) so family fun for us! ha ;) He had a bad day yesterday. Someone stole his nice warm knitted hat he bought in Switzerland 2 summers ago. They had an assembly and the kids he was sitting next to were obnoxious. The band had to play through the pouring rain during the football game. As he talked I just waited for him to say "I think I'll move to Australia!" :rotfl2:

Here's some pixiedust: for all of us.

Let's go Family!!!

Oh no, hmack! How frustrating! Are you going back tomorrow?

Good exercise this morning - 55 minutes, which brings me to 476/900. Made my mini-goal! Now, the rest of the weekend exercise is gravy. :goodvibes

yep. I'm rolling out of bed dark and early and redoing it tomorrow.

The one good thing is that I got to make a surprise appearance at book club this morning. I didn't think I was going to be able to be there this month, good thing I read the book.

LEEKS - does anyone know anything about them? My husband was gifted a bunch of them and I have no idea what to do with the things.

Good job on the exercise today everyone!

My favorite leek recipe is for Potato and Leek Soup. It's from Bon Appetit magazine years ago - originally fro La Baraona in Italy. Let me know if you want it and I will IM it, it's not very complicated.

Thursday - 60 minutes walking
Friday - 45 minutes walking
Saturday - 25 minutes walking

65 minutes this morning of cardio and weight lifting.

DS9 is sick with a fever and headache and cough. He was coughing a little this morning and he was tired too. We had an appointment for both boys to get their usual flu shots so I brought both of them to the doctor, and I told the doctor about DS9's symptoms. He examined him, everything appeared to be fine and his lungs were perfectly clear, so he gave him his flu shot. We were out for about 3 hours after that running errands, and he was complaining that he was tired and wanted to to home and lie down. When we got home I took his temperature and it was 101.8. I gave him Tylenol and he drank some water and went to sleep for two hours...he never naps! He woke up and was feeling a little better but the fever was still 100.8 on the Tylenol. Then he was tired again. He didn't want to eat dinner but he drank a cup of juice and just wanted to go to bed early, and I took his temperature. It was 102.8. I gave him Tylenol and a glass of water and he went to bed. My poor baby! I'm hoping this one doesn't last too long, that DS7 doesn't catch it or me or DH. I have auditions coming up at the end of this week...my student producers are choosing their leaders (directors, costume designers, etc.) for their respective shows. Not a week to take a sick day! Plus DH has the rest of the Fall season sports at his school going on, and a student vs. faculty softball game on Friday after school that he is hosting and playing in as well. :(

Will we make it to 50% as a team? You'll have to tune in tomorrow to find out. :)

bangzoom6877 - sorry to hear about the sick kiddo, that's not fun at all. here's hoping it leaves quickly before he shares it with all of you.

I had a good time volunteering at the 50K/50 miler. My favorite runner referred to himself as Captain America. He told me I was a good "patriot" for volunteering.

too bad shivering doesn't count as fitness minutes, or I would have gotten in a good 4 hours today of my 6 hour volunteer shift. It was chilly out there today. The runners were sweaty but I wor three layers and could barely feel my feet. But then again, they ran 50 miles and I hung pretty close to the aid station and snacked on peanut m&ms, so I guess I can't complain too much.

63 minutes for me today.
