October's OHANA -- Exercise Challenge

Ok ladies I've been absent for about a week. I was away with work and during that time I've injured myself. I have a Labral tear of the hip. So I'm not to do much activity. Start physio this week and will let you know how it goes.

60 min walk yesterday (sight seeing).
180 min run this morning
1022/1440
About the race. The Nike SF was the most difficult I've done to date. The hill between miles 9-11.5 was brutal. At least to this flatland girl. :)
It was definitely worth doing if you can make the lottery. I guess I like to torture myself.
Next onto the W&D.

UPDated -

sullymom - I'm so sorry to hear about your injury. Know that we're here, even if you're not reporting minutes. If you just need to vent or whatever, we're here. And when you're ready to get back on the workout horse, be it in November or further down the road, we'll be more than happy to go on the journey with you.

MrsAR- how awesome are you??? Congratulations on finishing the Nike Half and for conquering those monster hills. :thumbsup2 I don't know when in the course is a good time to have to do crazy inclines and declines but between mile 9 to 11 seems like a test of the spirit for sure.

So did we meet our 50% goal by this morning???????? no.

BUT that's ok. We're at 46.29% and only about 709 minutes away from that. If it was just one of use 709 would seem like an awful lot, but when you're part of a family who is all pulling in the same direction it's totally doable. I know we'll be there in no time at all!

"Around here, we don't look backwards for very long...we keep moving forward. Opening new doors and doing new things because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." - Walt Disney.

Let's keep moving forward, team and see where our dreams and goals take us.

MRS AR - good for you! Congrats on your race and for conquering those hills!

bangzoom - hope your kiddo is on the mend :thumbsup2

sullymom - sorry to hear of your injury. Wishes for a speedy recovery :)

linda - how were the homecoming festivities?

hmack...I nominate you to take us thru November if you have the time, you're doing a great job hosting this thread :goodvibes :goodvibes

Today I stayed home with DS9 and I took him to the doctor. He has the early stages of a respiratory infection. He gave him 5 days of Zithromax and he has to stay out of school until he has no fever for 24 hours. But he said that I can return to work tomorrow and DS9 can stay at my mom's house. As long as he doesn't cough in anyone's face, he said everything will be fine, even for my 9-month-old nephew which I was concerned about. The doctor wants to see him again in 7-10 days so I made an appointment for next Wednesday.

I'm still planning to exercise this afternoon! :)

Mrs AR - Congratulations on finishing that race! I know it's a tough one. Did you score a pretty little blue box? I have a few friends who ran that one and they posted photos of their loot. ;)

sullymom - so sorry to hear about the injury!! Hope you mend quickly!!

As for myself, I jumped back into an exercise class today. It kicked my backside, but I hung around for the full hour. I use to love exercise classes, but have put on quite a bit of weight over the last couple months and stopped attending. Truthfully, I got pretty good at imitating a slug last season! But, this month I'm turning it around. :goodvibes

That will give me 55 minutes exercise today and 531/900 total.

Adding 140 minutes walking and exercises since last posting. Sick after my long weekend away, but on the mend.......

380/900 so far

We should hit purple soon - awesome! I'm so proud of everyone and proud to be a member of the team!

62 minutes walk/run this morning (including warm up & cool down)
Running actually felt good for the first time in a few weeks.

EEEEKKKKK!!!!!

Updated! and I'm just a little bit excited. Want to know why???

Well -
2TxAgs is right on the verge of turning a color (could it be tomorrow??)

SlightlyocdDisneyfan - is kicking serious butt at exercise class

Disneybelle99 - is on the mend, and I KNOW that she'll be joining Purple Power soon!

SarahDisney - is super close to being on fire (and in this case that's a good thing). SarahDisney, I'm going to have to check out your PTR.

and then there is BANGZOOM6877 - who is our first member of Inferno RED!!!

And as a team we are at 48.75%. Yep. Tomorrow's going to be a BIG DAY. I can feel it!! You KNOW I'm going to bounce out of bed tomorrow anxious to do some updating! (yes, I know, I have a slight problem) :)

2TxAgs - thank you for the kind words, but I haven't decided about continuing my hosting duties. I've had a great time hosting this month, but November is one of the busiest months of the academic calendar.

Woo-hoo!! What an awesome team! :)

DS9 woke up feeling much better this morning! What a relief, the Zithromax is kicking in. His temperature is down to 100 this morning, from 102 yesterday morning. He ate a normal breakfast this morning too, no struggle! He's definitely on the mend and I think the worst is behind him. Still was coughing all night but hopefully that will stop really soon. And hopefully DH and I will start to get some sleep too...it keeps us awake at night and of course when that happens I start worrying about him.

Sorry for the injured, glad the sick are getting better and wahoo! for races ran.

Homecoming wasn't terrible. The weather was knock down gorgeous. DH connected with some people he hadn't seen in years. DS joined the alumni and choir and sang the national anthem.

Nothing special on the agenda this week. Same old, same old.

Ten days! We can do it!!

Thanks for the kind words and yes I did score my little blue box. I'm not good at posting pics here or I'd show you. :)
30 min elliptical last night (after a day of flying I had some kinks to work out) 30 min walk this morning
1082/1440
Thanks for hosting. Everyone knows how hard a month the holiday months are. If I could be trained into doing it on an iPad I'd do it.

strength training, focusing on my arms.

If I don't update us tomorrow, take that as a sign that I couldn't lift my arms enough to type.

Go team! So many people who have reached (or are very close to) new levels! And I really hope we reach purple power as a team today! If we do it, I'll paint my new magicband purple in our honor! (okay, fine, I was planning on trying to paint it purple anyway)

45 minutes of lower body and abs today. Only 10 minutes to get to my October goal, yay!!

AWESOME! I'm so excited for you!

Relatively light day for me - just a walk to my haircut (I took the bus home) - 18 minutes

859/1000

I should hit 900 tomorrow with my walk/run - I'm super excited!

Guess What?

WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OHANA OCTOBER IS TEAM PURPLE POWER

Yep. We're pretty awesome, and sitting at 52.03%

And to add to the excitment, we have three new great-gray-go-getters! congratulations goes to:
snels!
glss1/2fll!
Mrs Ar!

so, now I'm thinking a really insane thought. I'm thinking to myself, "well, we only have 9 days left in the month and getting the whole team to 75% by the end of the month seems like a crazy concept, but this group is pretty awesome, but that would mean that collectively we did 14,340 minutes...I don't know." (and yes, I often think to myself in terribly long run-on sentences)

And then I thought of what one of my favorite characters from one of my favorite movies, Jack Skellington once said.

"Just Becase I Cannot See It, Doesn't Mean I Can't Believe It".

So now I'm thinking that the seemingly impossible just may be possible. What do you think??

Been a while since I checked it and it was a crazy busy weekend with not much exercise sadly.

I'm at 715/1350 so I need to get my butt in gear if I going to make my goal!!
