October's OHANA -- Exercise Challenge

711/1400

Lots of walking in the chilly rain yesterday, but a great tour leader so we enjoyed the campus visit.

Belated Happy Thanksgiving to the Canadians here!

I was looking over the first post and saw quite a few purples and some oranges that are going to be purple soon. Awesome job, everyone!

Here's how I'm doing:
Yesterday - 22 minutes walking
Today - 65 minute walk/run

594/1000

20 min run yesterday 45 min elliptical last night 30 min run this morning
Brings me to 739/1440.
2TxAgs. I'm right there with you. I started to run 2 years ago to stay connected with my grown daughter. I fell in love with the racing vibes. Now I plan my race season out so I can stay motivated in my workouts. Like you I do it for ME.

I have been MIA for awhile but for the very best reason - we just got back from our surprise trip to Disney! It was really great. Hot weather but no rain and we had a blast. I could not run there because I developed a terrible prickly heat/heat rash thing and could not risk aggravating it, but I am going to count some estimated (conservatively) minutes each day for walking. Sad to be back and wondering how to talk DH into another trip next year.

LONG Catchup Entry:
October 3, 60 min walking
October 4, 90 min walking
October 5, 60 min walking
October 6, 60 min walking
October 7, 60 min walking
October 8, 60 min walking
October 9, 60 min walking
October 10, 90 min walking

October 13, 42 min running
October 14, 16 min walk with dog

Congratulations to the 3 newest members of Purple Power:
2TxAgs

Family Update: Ohana October is at 36.42%! How awesome would it be if we hit Purple Power as a family by Monday morning's check in??

mainemooncat - sorry to hear about the weird heat rash thing, but I'm glad that it sounds like otherwise you had a pretty magical time.

This week's Question: What is one of your most favorite Disney related motivational/feel-good quotes??

43 min run this morning. The last before Sunday's 1/2 marathon.
782/1440
Thanks for hosting. "The dream that you wish will come true"

This week's Question: What is one of your most favorite Disney related motivational/feel-good quotes??

"Just Keep Swimming"
It's basically my mantra. Gotta love Dory.

Congrats to the new purples! I really hope we can hit purple as a group by Monday!

For me today:
30 minute walk (after which I had a Grande Latte ... I justify my lattes by saying that I burn off a few of the calories walking to Starbucks)

That puts me at ...
649/1000

I'll be away from the computer for a few days, but hopefully I'll have some exercise to report when I get back.

good day today - a hodge-podge of exercise came to 60 minutes. It was mostly walking, a very short run and 5 minutes of tennis. yep. 5 whole minutes. We had obviously planned to run longer but there were two teenage boys at the park who behaving in a manner that made us feel a bit uncomfortable so we didn't stick around.

548/1200. inching closer to Purple.

My Disney quote - Second star to the right, and straight on to morning! - Peter Pan.

UPDATED. Love reading your Disney quotes!

congratulations! to swissfamilyrobinson for joining Purple Power! :thumbsup2

bangzoom6877 - you're going to be a great grey go-getter soon. You're on fire!

MrsAR - tell us about your Half on Sunday! I love that distance.

GO TEAM - LET'S FINISH UP THIS WEEK STRONG!!!!!

800/1400

Got in 5.5 miles yesterday - lots of walking, a bit running. Tried out a 'buff' to cover my ears and neck. Last week Dr found a small spot on my ear that will need to be removed.

***PSA**** Wear your sunscreen!!

Mulan is one of my favorite Disney movies...no specific quote, but several of the songs motivate me. "did they send me daughters, when I asked for sons?" I love how she holds her own in a man's world :)

580/1350 for me. This week has sucked for exercise because my dh has been home sick and has been taking the kids back and forth to school which has been great since it's been raining but I count on my forced exercise to get my minutes up! I also have a big craft fair this weekend I've been getting ready for so haven't had extra time. My schedule opens up again after next week so I'll be playing catch up!

My favorite quote is "If you can dream it, you can do it"

dizzyr - are you a crafter/artisan?

light day for me today = 15 minutes

563/1200 - hoping to get in enough minutes tomorrow to turn purple.
