October's OHANA -- Exercise Challenge

Ohana means family - and family means no one gets left behind or forgotten.

Let's celebrate our DIS WISH family this month, workout together and encourage each other to meet our goals!


The challenge for October is ON! The goal of this thread? To make a commitment to exercise for a specific number of minutes this month (you choose the goal that works for YOU).

A goal of 30 minutes a day will be 900 minutes for the month

A goal of 1440 minutes for the month is 24 hours (a full day!) of working to improve your health

So set a goal and join in!

When you achieve:

10% of your goal, your color will change to Blue
25% will bump you up to Orange
at 50%, we'll celebrate by turning you Purple
at 75%, you will become a Great Gray Go-Getter!!
In keeping with tradition, you be Red at 90% (cuz you're on fire!)
and you'll be Wish Green upon achieving your goal.

I'm in for 900 minutes too. I'm getting so close to my first goal weight and I know a good month of walking and exercise will help get me closer. 10 lbs to go to reach it and my goal was set for Nov 20th. I know I can make it still.

I have never seen this part of the disboards before and I am definitely in for 900 minutes! 40th birthday was last weekend and college graduation is 11/01 which is when I leave for next dis vacation. Thanks for starting this!
 
This is my first time trying a challenge, but I'm excited to give this a try! Please put me down for the 900 for October. Great timing... we just put a deposit down for a trip to Aulani for next summer! I would love to get myself into better shape by that time.

We booked a cruise to Bermuda for July 2015 on the Norwegian Breakaway, and I'm hoping to be in fantastic shape for it! I'm in ok shape right now, but my eating had to get better. So I'm focusing a lot on that right now. With all the food I keep reading about on that cruise, I'm gonna have to lose 10 pounds before I go just to break even on the weight I'm going to gain!

I'm working on finishing up (or hoping to finish up) 1500 minutes for September, but I think I'm going to lighten up a bit for October and shoot for 1200 minutes. The lack of daylight is starting to take it's toll.

Unfortunately I have to wait nearly 10 months for my cruise. I wish it was sooner, even though looking forward to it and researching the ship and Bermuda online is so much fun too. The up side is that I have that long to be in great shape and lose some weight so I can gain it back, lol!

I agree! Luckily, I find the planning part of the trip nearly as much fun as the actual vacation. We have a mini trip planned for Disneyland next month, but there isn't enough research/planning for that trip to keep me busy!

Love the title of this month's thread.

In with a new (easier) work schedule for October! Put me down for 1200 minutes as we will be at Disney for 8 days and while I will still run, I won't be getting the minutes I usually get.
