Hello all . Just booked to go back to the magic 3rd Oct, so just wanted to know what the parks and the weather are like. Also have to make sure her indoors does not sneak a peak on here as it is a suprise for her birthday. I dare say ther will be more questions to come :teeth:

Thanks

Steve

the weather I had in october (albeit 2 years ago and the end of the month) was the best we've ever had. hot but not too humid, real sunbathing weather. the crowds were fairly low even though we were there for halloween so I should think it'd be even better earlier in the month

Hi Steve

We always go in October and fiind the weather to be brilliant, not as hot and sticky as it gets mid summer, and apart from Halloween the crowds are good too.

What a birthday suprise - good for you

Wow!! What a pressie! Good husband! :)

We're going in October too and I've done a lot of research and it seems to be a great time to go. Parks are closed earlier of course than summer time but apparently, it's busy but not too busy. Disney will have their MNSSHP (Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party) nights when you go - more details here and there's a thread on the Theme Parks board with more info too! It sounds like a lot of fun! Universal also do Halloween nights which are much scarier apparently!! From what I've read though, it's always busy these days at WDW (can't speak for Universal, Seaworld etc.), it's just a matter of degrees of busy-ness, if that makes sense!

Oh, you can book a birthday cake at WDW restaurants and have them bring it out at sit-down restaurants. There's a thread here all about it. Just in case the surprise holiday isn't enough! :lmao:

We are also going in October. (6th-27th) I have heard the weather is good and the crowds are quite low too. We can't wait to get back there :cheer2:

We've been to WDW through almost all seasons (not Springtime - yet! ;) ) and October has be to my favourite! :goodvibes It's usually really warm but not too humid and crowds are manageable! :thumbsup2

One of the best times to go weather wise.Crowds will be light initially but will get busier towards our school holidays. Also be aware of Columbus day (10th I think) this is the equivalent of our Bank holiday so numbers of Americans will pick up. Epcot will also have the Food & Wine festival so the World Showcase can get pretty busy.
SD :firefight

We are travelling on the same weekend as we did last year, 8th in 2005 and 7th in 2006 but the same Saturday. So for the majority of UK travellers we arrived a week earlier than most. That week was pretty quiet despite the holiday for Columbus day on the Monday. We went to Epcot on that day as it is the biggest park and people can spread out more and it wasn't really a problem. Unfortunately into the early part of the 3rd week the Hurricane arrived and an awful lot of people living in Southern Florida travelled north and took in a few days in Orlando so that made it REALLY packed.

So week commencing Sat 7th to me was light
14th Heavier but no issues
21st Even busier but manageable, nothing compared to Summer/Easter/Xmas
