Has anyone been to Disneyworld in October? We are going on the 19th and I wasn't sure about the weather. Can you wear shorts? Do you need a jacket?

Thanks!!!

I haven't been before, but I'm going the 13th with a friend who has been there before. Should be fairly nice, might be cooler in the evenings. I'm only taking a light jacket and 1 pair long pants.

I was wondering the same thing about Sept. We will be ther th 16th-20th. I know it will be HOT during the day, but should we bring light jackets along at night, for the fireworks and such?

That time of the year . . . it will still be very warm at night. I don't believe you will need a jacket at night. Have fun. :thumbsup2

I went in October 18-22 last year.
It is not COLD but it is not HOT. It's more like cool. I think you could defintely wear shorts and a light jacket. :thumbsup2

Have fun.:wizard:

I live in Florida and I can tell you from experience that last year during MNSSHP in October, we were sweating to death. I was wearing a tank top and shorts and was dying. My son was 10 months old and we dressed him in the Disney Store's Tigger costume. He was dying in it, so we only put it on for a few quick pictures. The rest of the time, he wore shorts and a t-shirt.

Which night for the MNSSHP? I've got a full dress - maid in waiting :bride: thing - should I bring something to change into? Drat! I wanna wear the dress that took me a long time to sew! We go on Oct 4th.

In Sept its HOT - well HOT to all you non-Floridians LOL It's still 90+ here. In October you might need a light jacket at night. We can still do shorts and capris well into Nov.

We are going the 21st, so just a few days after you! I was wondering the same about the weather because we have never been that time of year. Are lovebugs gone by then also???:confused3

We always go in October. It's likely to be hot and humid, so you'll probably be okay with shorts and t-shirts. I usually pack shorts, one or two pairs of capris, and wear a pair of long pants on the plane. Bring a light layer (jacket, light sweatshirt) to wear in the air conditioned buildings, especially in the evening. The contrast between hot/humid outside, and heavy a/c inside, can be a little bit of a shock! I've shivered in restaurants before.

But I'd recommend that you check the weather forecast right before you go, just in case. I went to WDW in October 2005, and the second day we were there, Hurricane Wilma went through. We weren't impacted too much (parks closed for 1/2-day, had to stay in the hotel until the storm blew through), but the weather cooled off significantly after the storm went through. It was even too cool later in the week to sit by the pool comfortably. Was glad I had some capris and a sweatshirt.

So you just never know - just check the forecast as you're packing, and you'll be able to tell what to do.
