We will be there from Oct 4th - 12th. What should we pack as far as pants or shorts. For the top I guess we will do mostly tees but have a jacket or sweatshirt but I did not know about the bottom. I have a few pants for the little guy that have zip bottoms so he would have both options but I was not sure what I should focus on.

So what do you all think. What is the typical weather like?

We are going from 10/2-10/10 so we will be there at the same time! Since we are from the same area, this will be easy!! First, do not wear a jacket or coat to the airport, you will only be carrying it later. Wear a fleece or a sweatshirt. Your son's zip off pants are perfect! My DW bought me a pair so I can just zip them off at Orlando Airport. I know that they are not cheap, but if you can find them for the rest of your family, they work out great!
As far as pants go, I always pack at least 1 pr of jeans and 1 pr of khaki's and I NEVER WEAR THEM! So this year I am not packing them; just shorts. It can get cool at night (60's), but, for us, its not cool enough to worry about. Bring at least two pr of sneakers and 1 pr of sandals or Crocs. I prefer to wear polo's or button up casual shirts so that I can go straight from the parks to dinner. You see plenty of tee shirts in restuarants; but I think that you should be dressed a little nicer. To each his own.:) Be sure to bring a bathing suit or two as the pools are beautiful after a long day at the parks.
I hope that this helps...

Hi, I live in FL and am a NJ native. Fl that time of year is still summer season.
Pach as if you were taking a summer vacation. Do not bring a coat. I would bring a blanky for the plane.

Enjoy your trip!!!

We've been 3 times during that week and all 3 times it was HOT. I was in shorts and skirts the whole time. You could use capris too, but I would say that's just about style, I wouldn't think you'd need jackets or long pants. Have a great trip!

I had the same question, so big thanks for the info!

(I'm really trying to not over pack this year!!!!)

Thanks, we are driving down so space is not an issue. When we went in November a few years ago it was only starting to get chilly so as you all said shorts will be the answer. Good thing his summer clothes were a bit big atleast they will fit good on the trip. As for us I guess we keep the summer stuff out a bit longer.

Due to a scheduling issue with work we are taking our vacation the week before the office is closed for a week, so I can extend my vacation a bit longer just not in FL. My partner will drive all the way home and the baby and I may stay in VA to visit some friends for the rest of the second week. For that I know we will need warmer outfits so I guess we will pack 2 bags one for FL and one for VA and if by chance it gets cold in FL we will be covered. Now I just need to work out the details of extending my trip with the baby.

This is good info. Hope nobody minds if I threadjack, but we are going Nov. 8-15 and I'm wondering the same thing. Can anyone comment on the weather at that time? Our Disney book says avg. temps are 60-75 so I'm thinking that means warm during the day and chilly (need jackets) at night? It is hard for me to guess b/c the book gives avg. temps for the whole month of Nov. but we are there in the first half of the month, and I think that's right around when the weather changes? Input, please? Thanks!

OP - I also was getting ready to post the same question within the next few days. We'll be there from 10/15-10/21 and I was hoping that when I pack up the summer clothes for the boys I can really just "pack them up" into the suitcase. The trip is a surprise and it'll help that they won't notice they are missing a lot of clothes, as if I had to pack a lot of jeans.

Nov. 8-15 and I'm wondering the same thing.

We were there that time in 2000 and it was more jeans, tee, and sweats at night. we did sit out at night but did not go into the pool much. it was very nice, i wish oct was more like that but it looks like we will have the heat.

have a nice trip.

I would watch the weather (I usually use the local online news station for this) a few days before leaving and pack according to what they are saying, but, throw in some 'extras/opposites' just in case it changes.

We went in mid November back in 2000 & we wore shorts the whole time. I think there was a day we needed a light jacket.
