October Vacationers??

I have been in the Magic Kingdom before on the Saturday before Columbus Day and I would never, ever do that again, /QUOTE]

We are going October 3-8.. how bad was it?

We will be there 10-24 to10-31 at WL. We were there around the same time in 2000 and it was extremely hot! I hope it's cooler this time.

We are doing MNSSHP on the 27th. Is anyone going on the 27th?

We are also pulling DS out of school for two weeks. He has off for 2 days for state teacher conference. So only out of school 8 days.

My children are off school Oct 21-24 so that's when we'll be there. We've been to WDW many times, but never in Oct. It sounds like a wonderful month to me! :cloud9:

Check out the "who's going in Oct" thread here and find a post by MommyBoo - she made a spreadsheet of all the Dis'ers going in Oct that posted on the thread - its in her sig you click on it and find who's staying in your resort too!! :Pinkbounc

I figure it will be very very crowded towards the weekend, F&W will keep Epcot hoppin!! We have a plan, and will stick with it as long as possible, use fastpass, and *sigh every time I read a recent Sept trip report of "NO CROWDS" (well we get MNSSHP and F&W - and we werent the only ones that wanted to go for those!!!)

We arrive the 1st and leaVe the 8th, I hope it's not too busy but I know we'll hve fun!

Staying at OKW Oct 3-7th. Doing MNSSHP on the 6th, Hoop dee doo on the 4th, have a Wishes cruise on the 3rd, Fantasmic dinner package on the 5th (then heading to Pleasure Island). All in just five days. These old bones will definitely need a vacation when I come home. I'm looking forward to a great time. Not worried about crowds or weather because those are things I have no control over, so I'm just going to have a GREAT time. The more the merrrier and a little rain never hurt anyone!

We'll be there 10/2-9 at both SSR and YC.

Cannot wait!!!!

Yes, October is a very popular month. We've gone several times in October and the crowds seem to increase with each passing year. But, it's still lots of fun and the weather is great!

Also, our school district has a 3-day Fall Break (Wed-Fri) the last week of October each year and I know alot of families here head to Disney.

OK -- I know this is a longshot, but is there a trusty online itinerary builder?

We have decided which days we are going to which parks and we have some dining reservations. I'm way behind on my planning (we're leaving on Friday!!!!), and I'm looking for something I can enter in our plans and get the best itinerary based on current plans and other things that we want to do.

Is there any hope for my predicament?

Thanks!!

10/28-31st for us..MNSSHP on the 28th. Staying Yacht Club

I thought I read somewhere that there is a good chance the parks won't be too crowded but Resorts and Epcot probably will? Conferences or something so Epcot resorts are going to be bad...

Where did you see this!? We will be staying at Carribean Beach and were hoping for good room location and low crowds!!

We are going from Oct. 23rd through Oct. 29th. We're going to MNSSHP on the 27th.

we're going Oct. 21-29th staying at CBR, hoping the crowds will have died down. Not much you can do about it, just have to go with the flow.

We will be at the BCV (I can't wait) from 10/16 through 10/23.
I am expecting it to be more crowded than it was in 2003. Disney has recently extended hours and added an additional Fantasmic to a few days - so I think they expect it to be crowded too.
There is a huge (I read 4,000 people, I don't know if that is accurate) IT conference at the Swan and Dolphin during this time, the Food and Wine Fest, the Golf Tournament and something going on at the Sports Complex. So I am trying to prepare myself and my family for longer lines than in the past.

I'll be at:

Port Orleans French Quarter 10/15-10/18
Beach Club 10/18-10/23

MNSSHP on October 20

Sweet Sundays (F & W Festival) on October 16

Lunch & Learn (F & W Festival) on October 22

We were in the M.K. on the Saturday before Columbus Day in 2000. I have never seen so many people in one place in my whole life, and I have been to N.Y.C. on New Years Eve!!! After the fireworks that night we attempted to leave, however the crowds were so thick I was afraid I would be stampeded!! We only got to go on a couple of rides-- I think fastpass was just introduced at that time and was not up to par. Very dissapointing, but I think you could probably do better with the right planning!! Good Luck and Have Fun!! :earsboy:
